Valley Forge Insurance Company was founded in Chicago, Illinois in 1944. The company was created to provide insurance products to home and property owners. Today, Valley Forge Insurance Company still exists, but they no longer sell insurance, acting as a holding company for the parent company, CNA Financial, which is in turn owned by the Loews financial corporation.

Valley Forge Insurance Company was founded in 1944. The company operated independently until 2008 when they were absorbed into the CNA Financial Corporation. At the time of their takeover, Valley Forge Insurance Company had assets of around 55 million dollars, and operated with a net surplus of over 50 million dollars.

Company Ratings
Valley Forge Insurance Company is not independently rated by companies such as the A.M. Best financial ratings company. Instead, Valley Forge Insurance Company inherits the rating of the parent corporation, which A.M. Best recognizes as the Loews Corporation. Loews was last rated in January of 2013, when they received an "A" (excellent) rating and a stable long term outlook of "stable."

Insurance Products Offered
Valley Forge Insurance Company sold a variety of property and liability insurance products. Their insurance plans included auto, boat, and airplane coverage, along with plans for the home. Rounding out their offerings, Valley Forge Insurance Company also sold business and commercial insurance. Most of the products formerly offered by Valley Forge Insurance Company are still available through CNA Financial.
