Homeowners insurance will most likely not cover the damages incurred by your heating and air unit in the ceiling if it simply stops working. The only way that your homeowners insurance would cover these types of damages is if they are specifically listed in your policy. If your damages are caused by you in they will most likely not be covered. If your unit simply stops working and causes damage because of this, you will most likely not be covered.

Homeowners insurance may cover mold removal in the air ducts, but again this would have to be specified in the policy. This really depends on what caused the mold in the first place. The insurance policy will likely not cover mold caused by flooding, humidity, or damage caused by leaking pipes in the home.
