Pharmacists Mutual is a specialty insurance company, dealing exclusively with policies written for the commercial medical field. Founded in 1909, the company has always remained focused on insuring pharmacists, dentists, and other medical professionals and businesses. They began to offer personal policies for home and auto insurance through child companies in the early 1970's.

Pharmacists Mutual is the only insurance company to offer a free museum for the public, an early twentieth century recreation of a drug store, mostly composed of donations made by policyholders. 

Pharmacists Mutual reports assets of between 50 and 100 million dollars, according to the A.M. Best Ratings Company. The company is rated "A" (excellent) in the insurance industry, two notches below the highest rating available. This rating was made in June of 2012, when the long term financial outlook of Pharmacists Mutual was rated as "A" with an outlook of stable.

True to its name, Pharmacists Mutual Insurance Company still insures pharmacists and companies working within the medical field, including, dentists, medical equipment suppliers, and home health providers. The company makes the fact that every policy is custom-designed for the client an important aspect of their customer relations.

Pharmacists Mutual also sells car, home and other personal liability policies through subsidiary companies. They give their customers a single location to get the insurance products they need. Pharmacist's Mutual core group of customers remains loyal for both personal and business insurance.

The company is available in 49 states and has written more than 90,000 policies for more than 50,000 clients. Most of their customers are pharmacists, dentists and other medical professionals, along with the property insurance needs of those people and their families.

The company sells specialized insurance products to medical professionals from a pharmacy student to a seasoned professional. They offer personal service and a single source for amazing convenience from a mutual company. In an effort to make their company a single location for all insurance needs, the companies also sells property and liability coverage to individuals not in the medical industry interested in purchasing from them.
