AutoOne Insurance is an auto insurance company based out of New York. The company was purchased by a larger insurance underwriter in February of 2012, but continues to sell insurance under the company name. The company is not a national underwriter, but does sell car insurance products in several states.

Financial Rating
AutoOne Insurance was rated as "A" (excellent) until its purchase by Interboro Holdings, Inc. Because Interboro is not a participant in the A.M. Best ratings process, the company withdrew their "A" rating after the acquisition. Best reports that the rating could be reinstated at a later date if Interboro should opt to participate.

Customer Satisfaction
AutoOne is independently sold, giving customers more options when purchasing insurance. AutoOne Insurance specializes in Limited Assignment Distribution and Commercial Limited Assignment Distribution, called LAD/CLAD, the process where a company assigns a licensed representative in a state the ability to act on their behalf, selling insurance in a state where the underwriter itself may not be specifically licensed to sell insurance. This gives the company more reach by relying on agents who are already licensed

Company Availability
AutoOne Insurance sells insurance in 22 states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Maine, Montana, New Mexico, New Jersey, New York, Nevada, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia, Washington D.C. and Wyoming. This currently encompasses all of the states which use the LAD/CLAD distribution system, and more states may be added as they adopt this system of insurance underwriting.

Insurance Products Offered
AutoOne Insurance sells car insurance. In addition to a full line of personal car insurance, the company also handles commercial and high risk coverage. From minimum state requirements to comprehensive, collision, and optional add-on coverage, AutoOne provides any type of vehicle coverage customers need.
