We had a very, very bad claim experience with Progressive Insurance in 2011. Our car was damaged in far northern Wisconsin and Progressive took it to an inferior body shop that caused more damage to the vehicle as opposed to repairing it. Progressive’s claim” department was a girl driving around Milwaukee with a cell phone. They did such a bad job that I threatened to sue the for bad faith failure to pay, a legal cause of action in the State of Wisconsin.
After that we sought out a new insurer so we could drop Progressive. Farmer’s insurance has been given very good ratings. We contacted Debra Armstrong for a quote. Not only was her quote competitive with Farmers, Debra has been very good in personally explaining to us how Farmers’ claim process works, who to contact if we have a claim, etc. We have asked her more detailed questions about the claims process since we retained her in 2011 and she has been very good in thoroughly answering all of our questions.
