I have had this insurance company for several years. I originally got them because of a referral. This agent sends me car insurance info all the time when I do not have or want a car. This is a bit annoying and when I ask them to stop doing it they do not. I did look at other places to get better rates and they ended up having similar rates so I did not switch but did get some more discounts. Overall I am a bit hesitant about it but it has seemed to work ok so far. In the future if I move I am not sure if I would stick with allstate. It really depends on the rates. I d think that they do an ok job but are a bit annoying and pushy. That is sales though.
I’ve had this agent for over 15 years. At first he was excellent and really met my needs. If I got a lower quote he would always try to meet it and was always very responsive. Over the years I’ve noticed that he doesn’t respond as quickly and I often get different answers on why things cost what they do or why they went up. Last year when trying to renew it took 3 phone calls before I got an updated policy from him (emailed) and then it was very high. When I told him I had gotten a lower quote from Esurance (by $300) he said he really couldn’t match that (didn’t even try) and I ended up switching. The sad part was I don’t think he even really cared that I was leaving. I talked to his son once when I called and he said something about his dad being old, so maybe that had something to do with the lack of interest in keeping me as a customer. I did end up switching my car insurance. Because it was already paid for the year though, I still have my house insurance with this agent, but when it’s up I think I will probably switch that too and end up not using this agent at all.
