The owner of the agency is a relative of mine so when buying our home we used her for our homeowners insurance. We had no issues but then a few years later we shopped around policies and almost left. Another agent showed us that my wife wasn’t on the homeowners policy which is a big mes up. We almost left but gave them an opportunity to match the existing quote.. They were able to beat the competitive quote, plus upped our homeowner liability coverage. At the same time we ended up putting our auto policy with them. Our carrier for both policies is New York Central Mutual. Aside from giving us a competitive policy they corrected their initial mistake. In the end, we stayed with them and gave us more business while at the same time they corrected their mistake.
