When my wife and I moved to Maryland, we were already long-standing State Farm policy holders. Scott Garvey’s office was quite convenient to our home so we to him to establish our car policies in Maryland and to add a policy for our new condo. Scott was welcoming, even to providing us his personal cell number and assigned his office manager to handle any minor issues we had. However we learned that his office is a constantly churning, crowded training ground for just out of college people who stay for a while and move on. The result is that they rarely are expert in handling claims and frequently make mistakes or omissions, forcing us to call Scott directly or visit him in person to correct the problems. He talks a good talk and promises corrections but it took nearly two years to get the correct car assigned to the actual driver of that car, as an example. We have only stayed with him because of lack of nearby agent choice and our long-standing relationship with State Farm.
