I’ve had to file two claims in my life. The first time was about 6 years ago when a small tornado came through and ripped the whole roof off of the old farm house that we were renting. Water poured down through the attic to all three floors. I called my insurance agent immediately. His first concern was that my son and I were safe and if our home was inhabitable. I was then instructed to make a list of all belongings that were damaged and to send in a list with the value attached. I had a check within 2 weeks of filing the claim. No questions asked – they covered everything for the value that I claimed.
The second encounter was about 4 years ago when a deer came out of nowhere an hit the front of my car. Again, I called my agent and again, he was concerned for my safety. I was able to get a rental car for a week, have my car towed and the car fixed to better than it was previously.
I realize that they probably aren’t the cheapest” agency around, but in the only two instances where I needed my agent, he was there. The customer service is outstanding. I’ve been a customer for about 15 years and probably will be for 15 more.
