We bought homeowners and car insurance through his agency when we got our home in 2004. We bought both to get the discount. State Farm kicked us off of coverage after my wife had a car accident, but Mike lobbied on our behalf to stay on. He didn’t succeed but it was nice that he was on our side. We stuck with him for the homeowners policy in part because of that. We’ve never had a homeowners claim but he checks in every year to make sure our coverage is suitable, once even suggesting we roll back coverage to reduce our payments. All in all, working with him has been as good an experience as one could expect in the insurance realm. He’s been loyal and trustworthy, and as close to a friend as you can have without actually being friends.
