Initially (two years ago) this switch occurred because he works with the credit union where I was refinancing my mortgage: he offered me a better deal on the new homeowner’s insurance when bundling with the auto. I had a few questions later (about adding a rider) which he was able to answer promptly. More recently, I became concerned with rising rates on the auto policy, and tried to get more information, then reduce coverage. That took much longer than I would have liked (he said it was because of delays in AAA responding to him). Between that difficulty and the higher cost, I decided to shop around online for different policies. (I had previously always purchased my policies online). Since I have been offered some better rates, and prefer handling things directly with the insurance companies, I might switch over.
