1. I first knew Roy Dern when I was a child. He was my family’s insurance agent for our auto and home. I was recommended to him by my father when I got my first car. Roy has always been incredibly nice and welcoming. He is a very knowledgeable agent, at least when it comes to auto insurance. I have not used him for any other types. I have had a few problems with him. When I got my new car we ran into some trouble with getting my car insured. Roy could not validate my vehicles VIN. I had to go back and forth to his office several times so that he could try and figure out what was going wrong. The problem ended up being that he was writing down my VIN wrong. I told him the number twice over the phone, and he physically wrote it down once as well. I started to question his eyesight. It wasn’t until I wrote the VIN down, went to his office and sat at the computer with him while he typed it out that it was finally accepted. I ran into another problem with him shortly after. For several months my insurance premiums had been oddly high. I questioned Roy about it, and he couldn’t come up with any answers. I finally figured out that I had been written on the wrong plan and was getting much higher insurance premiums than I should have been. Luckily, Roy took care of it and he even tried to backdate the charges so that I would get a refund. I am still waiting to hear back on that. Overall, I would say he’s a good agent, but I have had some problems with him that have simply been due to forgetfullness or lack of attention.
