We first bought insurance from him when we lived in the same town over twenty years ago. When we moved he wanted to stay as our agent, and when we checked to possibly change locally the local agent didn’t want to take our agents business away from him. Whenever I call about a question he seems to find a reason to charge us more for something else so I don’t like talking to him. When I have a claim half of the time I call Erie’s main office. The main office seems to be faster to respond for claim help, probably because he needs to talk to them as well anyway. When we have needed help to find contractors for our own expense, being so far away the contacts have not been very helpful. About once a year I consider switching to someone who is local.
