My wife and I had unknowingly made a big mistake whenever we built our first home. We did not realize that the lot that we had purchased to build on was in a flood zone. Not only was this lot in a flood zone…it was a very low lot in neighborhood that was know for flooding. While we were building it we quickly recognized that we were going to have to carry flood insurance. Not every insurance agency will write a flood insurance policy for certain areas in our parish. There were several agencies that told us they would not write new policies for flood insurance. Someone told us to contact Liggio insurance.
