What Is Travelers Intellidrive?
Travelers IntelliDrive is newer to the usage-based insurance discount game. In 2017, Travelers came out with a different approach to the telematics-calculating rates by not including miles driven — which is marked against drivers in the Allstate Drivewise app.
IntelliDrive is available to each driver on the policy.
You can view your account through your Travelers IntelliDrive login and monitor your habits as well.
How does Intellidrive work?
What does Travelers Intellidrive record? Travelers IntelliDrive measures four habits:
- Rapid changes in speed
- Harsh braking
- Time of day
- Rate of acceleration
IntelliDrive monitors drivers for 90 days, then it uses that data to measure your driving habits and determine your discount rate. Based on the driving performance, your adjusted usage-based insurance rate will be reflected on your policy renewal date.
What Is Drivewise From Allstate?
Allstate Drivewise measures driving behaviors then rewards good drivers with discounted rates and cash-back rewards.
After the Allstate Drivewise installation — which can either be a literal plugin installation or a downloadable app — drivers automatically get a 10 percent discount. It’s said to help drivers save up to 30 percent on car insurance.
Drivewise can be downloaded by anyone, not just Allstate members.
How does Drivewise work?
Through the app Drivewise allows you to collect rewards or drive performance cash rewards after you’ve collected points for safe driving.
- Driving at safe speeds
- Not slamming on the brakes
- No late-night driving
The mobile app detects when you’re driving by your phone’s location services, so your phone needs to be at least 25 percent charged. Drivewise detects motion when you’ve traveled more than 20 miles per hour for a short distance.
Before we learn about usage-based car insurance, lets answer a few more questions:
