Travelers Insurance is the second largest issuer of personal insurance policies in the United States, and holds the number 89 position on the Forbes top 500 companies. What is unusual about Travelers is that they have achieved such a high ranking even though their policies are largely sold through independent agents rather than dedicated sales. In 2006, Travelers was purchased by the MetLife Insurance group, but has retained their operating name.
Travelers Insurance Company prides itself on constant innovation and excellent customer service. These are the top two reasons as to why they have been in business for over 150 years. Travelers Insurance formed through the merging of two different insurance companies: the Saint Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company, and the Travelers Insurance Company. The two officially merged on April 1, 2004, officially becoming what is now know as Travelers Insurance Company.

Travelers Insurance has a special Premium Audit available to their customers. This process will look for available discounts and other details regarding their accounts, and will adjust the cost of each premium accordingly. Other discounts are available by bundling policies. Incompetence or Thievery?
Travelers is either incompetent or thieves. I cancelled a policy effective 8/31 the date I sold a rental home. My agent processed that request on 9/2 and I have a copy of that transmittal that reflects the correct date. I received a written notice of cancellation from Travelers and the effective date on the written notice was 9/22. This would effectively reduce the premium refund I was due. My agent contacted Travelers and was told everything was fine that the letter I received must have been a typo.
First thing is that there is no such thing as a typo in today’s electronic age. Letters are system generated from data in the customers account. This means the cancellation date in their system was 9/22.
I called Travelers Customer advocates. I was told that they just received and processed the cancellation today 9/7 and that it was for 8/31. I pointed out that that was a lie since I had notice of Cancellation from them dated 9/2 with an effective date if 9/22. The Customer Advocate said that She couldn’t see that document in her system but that Travelers may have cancelled the policy on their end for some other reason. When asked why it was cancelled on 9/2 she could not tell me.
I am left but with one thing I can be sure of. Travelers are either incompetent or thieves. If they made a mistake, fine, own up to it instead of lying to your policyholders and agents about what happened. Having managed both contract compliance and customer service for a billion dollar corporation before i retired I learned early on that people are understanding and forgiving if told the truth by a company. They are not however forgiving when they are lied to.
The one thing I can’t be sure of is thievery. I’m am also a retired Certified Fraud Examiner. I can’t imagine that the company has a process or system to extend cancellation dates so as to reduce refunds and increase profitability. But I do know that any system in today’s business environment has flaws and vulnerability. Skimming small amounts that might not be noticed is a prevalent practice among fraudsters. Process a cancellation with an extended date to refund the customer then go back and process a corrected cancellation for the correct date snd divert the additional funds. Not that difficult to imagine and I strongly recommend that you let your corporate security take a look at this potential.
Regardless of incompetence or thievery rest assured I will never be back and will continue to share my experience.

Bent over again
First of all one star is to much. Anyone who rates this company as decent need there fucking head examined. Had home and auto for 5 plus years had decent coverage for the price problem is when life happens they wont pay out. First claim. 2019 vw alltrack hit a raccoon. 5700 in damage. 1000 dollar deductible they lied said the salvage yard car parts had 10 miles on them. 😆 really how fucking dumb do you think I am my car has 18k miles so are new vws just falling off the delivery trucks or what. Guy was an asshole on the phone he eventually hung up. My body shop finally got them to replace the oem intercooler. They sent 2 pieces of junk they wanted him to use he declined both times. Then they doubled my auto rate. My driving record is stellar mind you. Now it’s time to file a claim on a massive hail storm. Totaly trashed the roof. Was told I had to pay 2 separated deductible on for wind one for hail. This is total bullshit. Then the decking was bad. So now they wont pay for the decking. Was told to file a separate deductible for 1500 why the fuck would I do that. For 600 in decking. Why the hell do I even pay for a policy when they wont pay for the damages. Not to mention I get no where calling you pricks.

Worst ever
I had a wreck sometime back in my 2015 king ranch pick up. It did over 25K worth of damage. The trucks value is about $27,500. They fix it. I argued and argued but they did it anyway. Truck looks great but has a death certificate plastered all over the windshield. No person, no dealership will touch this truck with the hefty car fax that is on it. They wont come close to giving me what I owe on this truck so I am stuck. I have talked to other insurance companies along with dealerships and they just cannot believe they would fix this truck. I have been a loyal customer for many years and should have changed some time back. The adjuster was a asshat and the whole experience was bad and I am the one that suffers from it. Think twice before you use these people cause nothing good will come out of it.

BAD
If I could do a negative 100 I would…. I wouldn’t recommend them to my worst enemy….. treat you inhuman, like your a piece of gum stuck on the bottom of a shoe…. they try to scrape you off….they are threatening me and my family of homelessness…. our house is just sitting there red flagged by the city while travelers is just doing nothing…. don’t get me wrong, they’ve paid for our temporary housing for a year, but nothing has been done to the house…. so now a year later they are telling us that our temporary housing is ending on Dec. 31st, 2020…. with all this stuff going on in the world at the moment, you would think they’d have a heart….. nope, heartless….. rude rude rude…. they don’t know how to speak to people and just treat them like a number….. they speak in circles and put you thru hell….. I would mention names but they know who they are…. a claims adjuster, a claims adjuster manager and a claims adjuster supervisor….. California, Nevada…… we are the victims here….. I think they are committing a crime against humanity of threatening us and putting us out on the streets of no fault of ours….

Travelers Employees have Committed fraud again !!…..lies…and fake and falsified documents created by travelers…and the idiots submitted fake,,falsified documents to the courts,,,soon they will get a nuclear verdict” … what they do in workmans comp cases.. is try to get the clamant arressted first by lies and fake documents..so as not to pay the claim..(crooks)….i will make sure every commissioner in all 48 states knows exactly about the crimes they are commiting and how they commit these crimes..(fake documents)…to avoid paying a claim…The FBI NEEDS TO RAID THE BUFFALO LOCATION.

Lack of appropriate care for Workers Compensation
***if you are injured especially in TEXAS at work and need to file a workers compensation claim, you better hope Travelers is not the carrier. They will only attempt to downplay your workplace injuries in an attempt to save money with lower impairment ratings. All while letting injured workers suffer in pain while workplace injuries worsen.
I’ve had adjusters submit wrong Information to the state, input my information wrong into the Travelers portal so I didn’t have access, and tell me it was my responsibility to get corrected. They’ve denied procedures/treatments only for me to pay for out of pocket, and that procedure clearly showed worsening of my workplace injuries. And then they still refused to pay for the procedure they denied.
My saving grace is technology in 2020 and the ability to protect myself against companies that only want to save a buck at the expense of an injured worker. Truly sad in 2020 to receive a different standard of care and treatment due to the fact your claim is being paid through workers compensation.
Please, if you are having to utilize workers compensation though this company, protect yourself at all costs, as this company has zero interest in protecting your health.
****TIP**** I used a company online to assist in low cost MRI/X-rays after Travelers denied the request. Search the web if denied for a MRI/X-ray request, and companies such as Radiology Assist can set you up for a low cost procedure. If I hadn’t paid out of pocket and proved my injury he indeed worsened, there is a good chance the doctor that Travelers sent me to would have stated I was at MMI. Instead I proved my condition had indeed gone from a mild to acute condition and now I continue to attempt to get the appropriate medical care in a timely manner for my condition!
Best of luck to anyone else experiencing this nightmare experience of having to deal with Travelers Workers Compensation.

Taken total advantage of!! Bad business!!
They partially denied my claim after a tree fell on my porch and did damage. They denied it saying my contract doesnt cover pre exisitng deterioration or wear and tear blaming the posts and dormer damage to that, i have pictures showing a 150 ft tree fell on it and you can clearly see it caused damage. They hired their own engineer to come look at it and he told us one thing then wrote the exact opposite in the report! Now they sent a letter asking when it will be fixed or they may not insure me anymore! The next step is to go to court. I’ve been a customer for the past 8 years and I’ve wasted so much of my time going back and forth with your company only to be taken advantage of! This is bad business…I will be taking my business elsewhere and I have told everyone I know what a horrible experience this has been!! You have had multiple chances to do the right thing and work with us on the damage that was caused but you want to play dirty and go the pre-existing” route. Every house has wear and tear..I wouldn’t need to be redoing my porch if it wasn’t for the tree!! Unbelievably frustruating and horrible experience!! I will be sure to be more careful when I shop around for better coverage and a business who actually cares about their customers not just money!!”

Worst company
Worst company I’ve ever dealt with. Customer service is awful. Filed a claim for wind damage & no one calls you back. they come to see the damage & never let you know what is going on after. Call the company & they direct you back to the adjuster that also knows nothing. Call their supervisor they don’t call back. Over a month now & still all they can say is the case is still open. Don’t ever do business with this company.

Bait and Switch. STAY AWAY!
We bought a new home and bundled our home and auto insurance with Travelers just over a month ago. Friday I returned home to find my home owners policy was cancelled because our house was Vacant” which came as a complete surprise to us, as we have been living in the house since about 1 hour after closing. The so called customer service rep said there must have been a misunderstanding and she would reinstate our policy, however we will now need to pay double the rate we were paying because they have decided that the replacement cost of our house is double the appraised value. They then started asking questions about a claim from the previous owner. So far they have provided nothing along the lines of documentation to support anything they are saying. Looking at the other reviews here this seems to be just one of their common scams. I WILL NEVER USE TRAVELERS AGAIN, nor their parent company METLIFE. Don’t let them suck you in with low rates, once they get you on the hook they will have their way with you, and there isn’t much you can do about it.

Don't do it
The rates were less, but not by much. Then, after you have paid and accepted they want an actual copy of your prior policy. Knowing they have access to see you were insured before like everyone else can, I can only assume they do this to create a database of what all other insurance companies are charging. Rather than giving you a price they think is reasonable they want to barely beat other insurance companies to get your business. I didn’t go through with buying from them when they demanded to see my policy along with what the other company charged. Taking screen shots of my old policy wasn’t enough, they wanted me to call the prior insurance company to have it mailed to them. Scam.

Horrible company
Do not use this company they have horrible customer service and they do not care for their black clients. They do not return phone calls. One of the reps made a mistake typing my policy and they charged me for his mistake.

Bad customer service
My car was hit by my neighbor who insured through Travellers. The claim adjuster Mark Klaczk was located in Buffalo New York, even though the incident was happen in houston Texas. Mark was very rude, unreasonable about the car rental timing, he assumed a big damage on a car door can be fix in 3 days and pushing to use his repair shop. Very awful experience. I will never use this company for my car or house insurance.

Can't get an answer from underwriter
They overcharged me for 12 years of homeowners insurance. Their agent determined I had been paying for not just my home but the single family home attached to mine. Had to do with an incorrect replacement cost. The underwriters are refusing to refund the over payment. They did credit me $263.00 for this years premium. Reading the comments here about claim denials is upsetting to say the least. Looking around now for a different policy.

Claims department sucks. The defendant hit me at 50 miles and hour. Wrecked my brand new car costing $5000 worth a damage. The story Craig Carson told travelers was a lie. Him and the witnesssaid I ran a red light when I didnt. Craig carson was in the right hand turn lane. He told his insurance company he was going straight. Which was a lie. I got hurt from the accident insurance company. will not reimburse me for the accident. For what Craig Carson and witness said. My knee and neck is messed up. So far $950 in medical bills. Made appoint ment with my health care. So more bills will occur. My car will run me a $1000 and $50 dollars for the rental. Craig Carson and Kathy U claims represantive from travelers. You both suck and can eat shit.

Was involved in a accident with a person that has travelers insurance. How the accident happened both insurance companies. Didnt beleive me because their was a witness. The defendant and witness lied to collect on my insurance money. Sayed a ran a red light when I didnt. I ended up having injuries from the accident. They have denied my claim. Dont have travelers insurance they suck.

They wont cover any claims, period!
Be careful! just read your policy, and prepare to switch to any other insurance company. they insurance dont cover technically anything. I filed a claim for the mold issue in my basement and find out they dont cover anything. they just closed claim, and I don’t see any report for the claim.

A very dissapointing experience
Travelers Insurance Company has got to be one of the world’s most incompetent, lamest and laziest insurance companies on the planet. One of Travelers business clients committed fraud and performed careless repairs on my vehicle.
I provided Travelers with photos, videos, mechanic comments and repair estimates. Travelers then claimed that they have to see the vehicles damages anyway. Obviously, Travelers likes to play the role of an ASE Certified Mechanic. They recommend that I not drive the vehicle but then refused to give me a rental car.
Travelers then took 12 days to come out and look at my vehicle just to see and take photos of the same exact damages that I already gave them previously. Travelers took a total of 15 days just to advise that they are not going to cover any damages now. What a waste of time and money. Stay away !

Deceptive tactics
I tried to work with the insurance agent and they deceptively avoided any contact with me. I had 2 neighbors get new roofs because of a tornado and the agent did everything to avoid me to not pay the claim. Poor management and service from this company. Avoid them.

serious problems with the company
I transferred my auto insurance coverage back to Travelors, where they tried to raise my insurance $87 three weeks after I had paid my policy in full and received my insurance cards. I never got a bill, but got a notice they were going to automatically take it out of my bank account without my permission as the original policy had been paid for by a check.

Poor Customer Service
Too many issues with my claim to go through them here. Lack of follow up from agent that handled my claim. I had to continuously track him down and It would take days to return my messages. He would make promises to send check or call me back and I never would hear from him. My roofing contractor is also STILL having issues reaching him. My friends have other insurance companies and have never experienced this. I have more but you get the picture! Pay a little more and go with a more reputable company.

Horrible Service, Follow Through, Resolution.
They have it covered. This is the worst experience I have ever had with an insurance company. I would recommend to anyone considering Travelers, move on, find something else. ANYTHING else. I filed a claim on 7/9/18 and it is now 1/18/19 and there is still no resolution!!!! And even worse there is none in sight. They lie to not pay a claim. They don’t return phone calls. They have pulled every trick in the book to not pay this claim. HORRIBLE!!!!!

Accident Forgiveness is Real!
Our household had two total car losses under Travelers within one month. Their customer service and claim process was as easy as possible under these types of circumstances and they did not drop us as I suspected they might! Our adjuster and claim processor were very friendly and helpful and our claims were paid out within 1 week of the accidents. Fully recommend Travelers in a world full of insurance possibilities.

Worthless
I had damage to my roof after two Tropical Storms came through. Claims representative inspected and said it was the age and condition of roof, but agreed roof leaked based on the storms. Was willing to pay just over my deductible to repair damage. I declined the claim. Got a letter two weeks later threatening to cancel insurance if I did not make roof repairs. Needless to say I put on a new roof and canceled my policy with them.

Took my money but left me without insurance ,worst of all I was In Hurricane HARVEY and was devastated ..They told me not to worry and I drove with no insurance for 2 full months.I had to call them and they demanded payment for the time I was not covered .I paid them so I would not have a laps. They kicked me when I was down..

Don't use if you have a claim
Not only did they not reimburse me and my wife on our claim. The representative did everything he could to push us to get a lawyer involved. They never worked with us on our claim, nor did they make things right. Disgruntled at the service, the result, and their accountability.

Very satisfied
Last spring we unfortunately had to contact Traveler’s Insurance Company due to a flood in our vacation home. We found the adjuster, Dean Piaquadio, to be extremely helpful and responsive. He arrived the next day and connected with out flood mitigation and repair contractors as well as later with our flooring contractor and they all worked very well together. We were, of course, very pleased that everything was covered! Dean was very pleasant and returned all,our calls and emails.

Good price, but lousy service
I had been a Travelers customer for nearly 10 years, always paying for collision and comprehensive — year after year, no trouble. Had an accident, which they paid quickly, but a year later they dropped collision and comprehensive while I am paying off my new car. Too big a risk” they say (though I had stopped driving for 11 months) but they were still willing to charge for it. Tried to call a representative to settle this as I needed to collision and comprehensive for terms of the lien. They say they can’t offer it, and I should switch to another carrier. This would be good advice.

Horrible customer service with multiple employees.
I experienced the worst customer service from any place I have ever delt with. They would not return my calls or emails no matter if it was to the employee or his boss. Took months and months to resolve my issue. They do not want to cover anything just blame others. I don’t know why you pay them for insurance.

They just cancelled the Home insurance of a 100% Disabled veteran because he is selling his home to get closer to health care. Policy is paid until 2019. My health is not a risk for them so just cancel it because they say we have a higher risk. BS

Terrible
Paid annual premium in January 2018. They cancelled insurance because I have decided to sell my home. They claim a change in risk because I am no longer using home. I am a 100% disabled veteran and this is causing me health problems. Travelers Insurance SUCKS. Overall satisfaction Is 00000000

THEY HAVE GREAT RATES BECAUSE THEY DON’T PAY THEIR CLAIMS. Many years ago I think this was a good company. Not any more. A micro-burst damaged my roof and they refused to pay. I’ve had insurance on cars, home and businesses for 50 years and never been treated so badly. They will use ANY excuse not to pay a claim.

Refused to pay claim
I was hit by a young driver, totally his fault. Spun my car around. I have a crown in tooth #7, the impact fractured my tooth, from gritting my teeth no doubt. I had absolutely no problem with my tooth up to that point. My insurance company Travelers, that is supposed to back me up refuse to pay the dental charges to fix my tooth. I have gone 6 months now, trying to resolve this issue with no results. Except no coverage. I still have no car but when get it I will never insure with travelers. Everyone I talk to concur. Travelers stinks. No justice for honest people.

Disele Capers: Incompetent Liar
Enterprise called today to say Travelers quit paying for my rental two days ago. No notice from Travelers. Disele Capers, Travelers Agent had told me I would have “no out of pocket expenses” because of their delays. Agent’s attitude towards body shop manager has created a toxic environment. USAA is my next call after twenty years with Travelers.

claims adjuster bad
I am expressing my extreme displeasure with Travelers Insurance. They are a great company as long as you do not have a claim. I have had a terrible time with their claim adjuster. He has done everything that he could do to make my experience terrible. Instead of helping me he did all he could to delay any payments and make my claim process difficult and frustrating. He had us send in pictures of food that had been lost in move but has done nothing with it. He would say that he had sent the check for our rent, as we had to move out of our condo because of water damage caused buy a fire in a unit on a higher level. We would call the following week and he had not done what he said he had. He would finally mail it out after we complained. He did this multiple time. The final straw was when he said he (Travelers) would not pay for our rent after the construction people said it was ok to move back in. He did this knowing that there was not a mover to move us back in, as they were booked up for two weeks. He expected me, an almost 70 years veteran with disabilities to sleep on the floor. He said that he would check on finding a mover for me and get back to me. He did not do this. I checked with movers and found the same backlog in booking as our mover. When you complained, all they do is kick it back down this employee’s supervisor, who only looked considered this employee one sided and made up notes. He wrote all his notes one sided so he could justify all his actions and cover all his inactions. I could go on but will not. If you are considering going with a Travelers please reconsider. The true tell of a company is when you needed them. Travelers is not the company you want. Please look elsewhere for an insurance company.

LEFT ME WITHOUT AUTO COVERAGE FOR OVER A MONTH
We were destroyed by hurricane Harvey and had Travelers Auto Insurance. We were devastated my work of 23 years gone. My credit gone. I contacted them and they told me to make a 200 dollar payment and my insurance would be good for another month. I paid them,I contacted them before a month was up ,and they HAD CANCELLED MY INSURANCE WHEN I MADE THE 200 DOLLAR PAYMENT !!! I DROVE FOR A MONTH WITH NO INSURANCE. I called them and they told me they would lapse my insurance if I did not give them 300 dollars more.. So I gave it to them paying the entire policy off. They signed me up for another policy at 50 percent more making my policy for 6 months being 986.00 dollars remember im 46 years old no tickets no accidents no nothing just perfect except what the storm took from me. I contacted my agent this time and they took care of it setting me up with ALLSTATE at only 608.00 for six months with the exact same coverage. I HATE TO SAY ANYTHING BAD BUT THEY LIED TO ME AND THEY LOST A GREAT CUSTOMER !!

They cancelled my policy
First of all, they denied my claim to remove mold and repair leaky pipe. Then they required proof that the repairs and mold removal was done. i provided EVERY invoice,, PDF documents, photos, and payment receipt, but I was told there was not enough detail in the invoices as far as what exactly was done. Um, is that my fault?! So they cancelled my policy based simply on the fact that the contractors were not as detailed as Travelers wanted! They are willing to lose my business and revenue based on something that is completely out of my control! UNBELIEVABLE!

Terrible Customer Service
Switched Work Compensation Insurance to Travelers to Save a little bit. During the annual review, Travelers automatically INCORRECTLY and without explanation switched all employees to the most expensive category. Double the cost from prior year. TERRIBLE customer service. No follow-up. Been working on fixing their error for 6 months. Small cost savings not worth it!!

Do not use for sole proprietary workers comp
I cannot even rate the cost and billing experience because I have yet to be billed. I had workers compensation insurance with them as a contracted therapist. When I cancelled the account, I was forced to complete an audit. No one explained it to me and they continued to tell me I need to give specific forms that I had never heard of. I repeatedly told them that I am just a contracted therapist, I have no employees, no claims and didn’t even file this job on taxes because the company I tried contracting with doesn’t have their act together and in one month’s time I had only seen one client once. I am not claiming $45 on taxes. When I finally figured out what I needed to do, I send an hour trying to register online only to then have to call customer service again for them to register me. Their automated messages and operators tell you to use the web and their website tells you to call them. Such a backwards way of business!

Avoid This Company
Worst experience ever in 45+ years of buying auto insurance. In a telephone call, the Welcome Center” agent was annoying and offensive, even to the point of implying I was lying because my current situation did not match the information he had from some suspect source. This was 4 days before my policy was to be effective. The experience was so unpleasant I called and immediately canceled. I would avoid Travelers at all costs, no matter the premium.

Terrible Customer Service!
They never call you to tell that your policy is going up. Automatically puts your children on the policy because they live with you, after you tell them they are too expensive and that I am looking for different insurance and do not put anyone else on my policy. They get every dime out of you. When you cancel your insurance policy they make everything so difficult. They want proof of my new insurance before they cancel my policy. Never again’ They are so rude on the telephone. I would definitely shop around before any of your children get their licenses or else you will get a notice in a mail stating you owe so much more money. They are so expensive!

Cheating on payment return after cancelation
After early cancellation Travelers didn’t just prorate premium, but come up with list of charges because of cancellation, which I never signed for. As a result I received only 27% of what I suppose to receive. It didn’t happen with another 2 insurances from another company, which honestly prorated it and return difference

So , we use ADP for payroll and we got a quote from Travelers for our workmans comp. They did beat our rate by $51.00 a year and also we would not have to do that dreaded audit at the end of the year because ADP would do that for us if we switched, but after reading the customer reviews for the last 2 hours I have to say that I am SHOCKED! I have not come across 1 GOOD review. I just don’t understand how a company that has been around for so long has such HORRIBLE reviews. I am sorry that so many people have had to go through so much headache trying to file a claim, and also trusting an insurance company that is supposed to be there to help your customers in a stressful time. But a big THANK YOU to the people that take the time to leave a review. We will keep our policy with Erie and pay the extra $51.00 a month.

Crappy
Home insurance horrible!! We had two minor claims for roof leaks in a two year period (12 mos apart). We have a sturdy metal roof. We live in the mountains with potential for lots of snow! The first claim was where a roof vent pipe was not sealed properly and damage occurred over a period of years before we detected the slow leak in a storage closet. Repairs /claims just over $2thous. The second we had a really heavy snow total that next winter and ice dams on the roof valleys caused a leak in another location. We called as soon as it was discovered to prevent further damage and higher claims. Cost just over 3thous. Both claims went smoothly, no problems. Then about a month ago, 9 months after the second claim, we got a notice that our insurance had been cancelled because of our claims! That’s right, just over 5 thous dollars total and we get cancelled. The first time in 35+ years of homeownership we have ever entered claims (except for hail damage in 1980’s in Denver) and we get cancelled! They said it was because the claims were too close together (just over 12 mos apart)! Guess we should have waited till the end of the winter when even more damage would have occurred to submit the 2nd claim! We called them and they refused to reconsider, said something to the effect that their guidelines for cancellation were not flexible. They never told us when we filed these dinky claims we would likely lose our insurance! We certainly would not have filed! So my advice, Travelers sucks and is a bad deal! Dishonest company!

Phone agents mislead and claim to NOT know things
Had travelers a good while. Phone agents when questioned claim to not know anything about insurance points. They outright lied to me about the cost of a accident for the other person. Because of that we did NOT claim our damage because it would given us 2 insurance point rather than 1. We could have made our claim ($500-600) and gotten no additional points. DISHONEST!!!

perfect driving record for over ten years with travelers. no tickets, no accidents, no claims. paid over $2,000/yr for 2 cars premiums. hit something in the road on interstate at 75 mph. had a $1000 claim. they increased my premium more than $800. this is a horrible company. buy your insurance ANYWHERE else.

With my former employer and there employees. They all work together to change falsify and cover up the truth to benefit themselves and get out of what is there responsibility and obligation. My employer threatened that if I submitted a claim she will ruin my life. My employer demanded that I be charged with insurance fraud. Travelers obtains unrelated unauthorized medical records and allowed my former employer to these medical records which is against the federal HIPAA law . I will be charging them with this. Knowing that I was not lying they contacted the Maryland insurance fraud investigator and lied to them and demand that I be charged . I was charged with a severe felony insurance fraud that has a 15-year possible prison sentence. Due to their false story that I could not prove a week prior to my court hearing my wife and I found out she had breast cancer. I accepted a plea bargain so she would not have to have anymore worries. 8 months later Just by accident I came across documented evidence that indisputable verifies I did not lie and they did so now I am working with the true Insurance Company that was frauded and will be having Travelers and my employer charged for what they did. Travelers is the most heartless despicable disgraceful Insurance Company there is Travelers is a 28 billion dollar insurance fraud themselves whether the CEO news about this I don’t know but he needs to. I contacted Travelers claims manager trying to resolve this issue their claims manager said to me get a lawyer . There felony crimes cost me and my wife our house and financially took every penny we have. I have been diagnosed with severe trauma due to the fact of losing everything and worrying about going to prison for up to 15 years for something I was not guilty for they were.

Cancellation for dog breed
After switching all my insurance needs to Travelers they cancelled my homeowners insurance after two months because I have a Doberman. My agent tried to talk to underwriting letting them know that we had no problem with them not insuring our dog in the policy, she never had an incident and was 9 years old but they would not consider reinstating us. I called Travelers customer service and informed them that since they were cancelling my homeowners I would be taking my 5 autos, two rentals and umbrella policy and switching to a new carrier. The agent said he would send a message to underwriting to see if there was any way they could keep my business. They did not even bother getting back to me so I guess they don’t need my business. I am happy to say that I switched everything to Progressive and saved $400. Goodbye Travelers!! Will never do business with them again!

Nightmare that never ends...
The worst ever! choose another company! I had a very small claim handled by Jason A Criswell and was the worst experience ever! I was forced to hire a public adjuster out of the unprofessional experience that I had. Very rude on the phone and him and his manager were extremely rude at my house, I thought there was going to be a fight. almost a year and my claim is not finished?!?!?!?!?! THEY SUCK!

Sloppy Billing
Found out this company cancelled my insurance while I was out of the state and when I called them to ask why, it was because I didn’t send them proof of insurance from 2 years ago! Didn’t matter that I had sent proof of current insurance! Asked where they sent the cancellation notices and it was to the address. Asked them what my billing address was and they wouldn’t answer because it was different from the physical address. Wouldn’t admit their mistake. DO NOT GET INSURANCE THROUGH THIS COMPANY!

Chagne your rates for no reason
We traded one of our vehicles and when we did we let our 22 year old have the new vehicle and my wife took the old one. When I got the policy the charge for the vehicle that my 22 old was drive went up even though now a 48 year old is driving it who has a perfect driving record. They could not give me an explanation. They put information into a black box and they have no information on what comes out. went up over $300 a year and we now have less valuable vehicles than before. I give up!

Useless insurance - we are tricked
We were absolutely sure that our deductible is $500 – it is stated so in our original policy. When our property was damaged by severe hailstorm Travelers adjuster told us that our deductible is 2% of property value for hail damage and we were notified by the company. We never received such notification. 2% of property value made our insurance claim useless. All other property owners around us repair their roofs and insurance companies pay for it with small deductible. Travelers is tricky and unreliable. They want your money and do everything not to pay at all. If we would be notified that our deductible is so high for hail damage we would never continue business with Travelers.

impossible to cancel
They raised the cost by a third without ever a claim. Got new insurance company who followed the rules and faxed them a signed copy of the cancellation with effective dates 6 weeks ahead of time. Since the first we have sent 3 more faxes, all ignored, and two phone calls, also ignored. Today I get a letter telling me to pay up or be cancelled. Effectively the were able to keep the refund that was mine. Quite a racket! BEWARE OF THIS COMPANYS PRACTICE

GOT IN A TRAP OF LYING AND DECEIVING
When I was presented by the ADP agent to use her friend’s insurance I signed up trusting the beautiful words of the lady over the phone. However, when I decided to cancel I realized that I was trapped in a shady contract and a lot of penalty to pay for early cancellation even though I signed up for a month by month coverage and when I call to cancel and switch for a better company the person over the phone didn’t tell me that I was trapped on this contract.
I would never do any business with them and don’t recommend to anyone. The agents lie and deceived you to get your business. IT S A TRAP!

Claim denied
Travelers denied a mold claim even when the conditions satisfied the policy language. WE had to hire a lawyer to make out the language. They sent twice an inept engineering company Forcon, who basically ignored the conditions. My advice is avoid Travelers.

Bait and Switch
I decided to get a quote with Travelers insurance company after my previous company increased my rates. Even though it took about an hour and 1/2 to get an accurate quote. I was basically interviewed about everything down to the detail and was surprised when they offered me an affordable quote. However, they never disclosed they would have a home inspector come to my house (after the policy was issued). I thought it was a little invasion of my privacy especially when the inspector took pictures of all our rooms and bedrooms. I was told he was going to inspect the pellet stove. Well, a few weeks later the underwriter called and told me they had severely under insured the house and basically had to insure it for 2x the cost. Of course the premium increases $1000 per year. The new replacement value of the home is a pie in the sky price and is literally 2x the value of the home. Classic bait and switch!

My son’s car was hit by one of Travelers clients. They totaled out his car, took it because he was still paying on it because they didn’t want to fix it and he never got compensated for his car. Now he does not have a car, no money to get another one and they totally ripped him off!!!

they canceled on us
After having Travelers as the home insurers for more than 10 years, in the last six months, the CC linked to the payments got stolen and we did not realized it for couple months. Then Our mail got was being stolen, had to report it to our Post Office. We travel very often for work. All these made payments to Travelers for the last last 6 months a bit messy, and now while traveling they canceled our policy as they did not receive $165 on time and won’t reinstate it.
More than 10 years with Travelers and they dumped us.

Bad business practices
Don’t know why people are complaining? True story: Ex has filed 2 claims for house damage never had rate increase! Nor has he been cancelled. Has forged my name on their checks and still has coverage. However they did report ME to the credit agencies due to their own negligence on many levels starting with underwriting to allow my name on policy without being on mortgage. Now wont fix my credit report, still haven’t removed my name from policy and wont help with the criminal investigation either. So my ex gets away with everything–and still keeps coverage! Sad but true (and no I don’t have shady credit).

Bad faith insurance company
I’ve had coverage through travelers for two years.when I was in an accident my insurance company had towed my car to a collion place only to find out my electric car had been towed in park. My batteries were fried from being over charged. My back tires warn, my brakes ruined. The insurance company is refusing all liability for totaling my car I had intrusted to them, to take care of while it was being fixed. The original claim handler was honest and told me what had happened. Sense then the claim handler was switched 7 times, each new handler saying they cannot tell me anything about my claim. the company has been trying to cover up there tracks.this has been going on sense sep 6th/ 2016 to Jan/09/2017 and still continued. Travelers had also failed to respond with the collision place they had towed my car to and abandoned my car there without my knowledge. Now my broken car is missing that i am still making payments on.

From the very start of my injury I have experienced their claim adjuster breaking HEPA Law, another claim adjuster that would delay my temporary disability payments to my advance on settlement payments, change the app she used for mileage reimbursement without notification, (the app she now uses shorts my reimbursement fee) to the corporate office not responding to its legal representation, and now bullying/strong arming me by not offering a fair settlement!
This is an absolute disgrace!!!
I am sure that the founder of travelers did NOT expect this behavior of its employees.

Avoid this company
I was satisfied of Travelers in California, so when I arrived in Texas I just wanted to continue with them, insurance for my mobile home was then estimated to $180 a month.
After 2 years I discovered that I was paying 2 times the maximum amount of home insurance for my type of home, so I just stopped paying in search of another home insurance.
After some months Travelers sent me a cancellation notice, I assumed that my home insurance with them was just over. But I recently received a debt collection notice stating that I still owe them almost $600 for totally unknown reasons anyway not specified.
So beware, AVOID TRAVELERS for even after your insurance policy is over you still will owe them money, dishonest company which charges you twice the maximum local market amount and continues to charge you after the end of the contract.

I escrow my insurance and taxes with my mortgage company and Travelers sent the check back to my mortgage company 3 times!!!!!!! They made me pay the premium myself and told me it was my problem to get the money from them! The mortgage company already applied it to my escrow. Their right hand doesn’t know what their left is doing.

Incorrect payment to body shops
I have made two auto claims with Travelers, and both resulted in the incorrect amount paid to the body shop. When picking up my car, I spent hours trying to work it out. Travelers admits their mistakes but I spend hours at the body shop. They refuse to make any type of monetary discount for the time spent with voicemails and employees to correct their mistakes. I have a credit card, paid in full with an email sent that confirmed I would be reimbursed, but don’t know what would have happened if I did not have credit.

Horrible claims adjusters
Filed a claim due to basement flooding. Rain water came in due to a tree falling on my roof and damaging the guttering. Rain water filled up window pit. Said they won’t cover because they are considering it surface water. Will never recommend this company to anyone. We will be switching insurance after this.

Never again
bought a house, needed insurance last minute. For starters they did not notify my that they were coming out for photos, or when. Then when they did come out, and took the pictures, and put the notice of cancellation in the mail, the only reason they could come up with was an unregistered vehicle on the premises. I called them and asked them why it was an issue. The best they could come up with was oh someone could get hurt on them”. I proceeded to hang up the phone and call Liberty mutual, who then literally cut my rate in half, and had no issue with anything on the property. I will never deal with travelers again.

Just moved back to PA and was updating my address as well as policy. Was informed that they could not rewrite my policy because my wife got into a fender bender in a parking lot. Cost was under $2500. Kicker is that she was driving her car under her own insurance policy. I HAVE NOT BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT OR HAVE HAD A TICKET IN OVER 25 YEARS!!!! Expensive and horrible customer service
I don’t want to write an unnecessarily long story about my experience with Travelers Insurance, but
here is what you can expect: rude and unfriendly customer service ( unless you are buying a policy or do not question anything) which and after I complained about only became worse. Here is what I mean: not long after my complaint, they began demanding copies of my HOA agreement – something they can obtain online themselves but refused to do. When I told them it was not reasonable that I had to mail or fax this large document to them they retaliated by requiring that I also needed send updated photographs of my property – really? why? Their response – just because they want them.
When I complained again about borderline harassment from customer service they sent me a rate increase notice. Then when I challenged them to justify the increase they cancelled my policy. I was fine with this since I had already found another policy for $200.00 a year less than the original quote they gave me in the beginning and the same amount of coverage.
I have never had any problems with a homeowners insurance policy until I bought a policy from Travelers Insurance. Thank God I never had to make a claim, who knows how that would have went.
If I could rate them lower than 1 star I definitely would.

Travelers is a JOKE!
Beware of using Travelers insurance. We have been a policy holder for 5 years. We have had 1 auto claim in that time. Travelers said our deductible was $500 but would be $250 with a police report. Had the report filed and then was told on page 38 of the policy it states….” and we still owe the $500. We just finished filing a homeowners claim (our second homeowners claim in 5 years) and was told that due to an “exclusionary clause” the claim could not be covered. What a joke! We have done nothing but be loyal, paying customers only to receive this kind of coverage and support for the claims we make. Travelers is a business based on crooked practices and fraudulent behavior and is filled with executives making the rules up as they go along. Stay FAR away from them!”

Travelers was supposed to have added GAP insurance to a Recreational Vehicle we had purchased.
One week after purchase the vehicle was damaged. A claim was processed, we received a call stating the $70,000+ RV was totaled. Listing a hefty $36,000+ in labor to repair half of that amount in damage. Come to find out they don’t offer GAP on those and conveniently forgot to let us know. They were quick to overnight us a POA to sign and they did decide to pay our limit of $60,000. However, they did not have the RV picked up in a timely manner and would not issue a payoff until it had been picked up. Then told us the payoff will be sent regular mail. Leaving the loan collecting more and more interest daily.

Criminals
We have been using Traveler’s for 8 years. This last year we paid our bill (around $500) then suddenly about 2 months later they audit our business and decide our rate is too low so they send us a bill for another $1000. We told them there was no way we were paying that we never agreed to pay that much and they were rude and unhelpful so we cancelled and went with a much cheaper company. Now we get a bill from collections saying we still owe them the money. They must be crazy if they think we are going to pay a bill we never agreed to for a year of insurance we didn’t use. We called again and again everyone was nasty and wouldn’t help. I don’t know how they look themselves in the mirror. Absolute worst company I have ever dealt with. Unscrupulous, unprofessional criminals. I will never pay them a dime of that money.

Travelers Difficult to Deal With / Avoid
I got an online quote for Home and Auto insurance.
When I called to get it attached to my escrow on a new home purchase they said that since the new home had a few dropped ceiling tiles in the basement they couldn’t quote me until it was repaired. WHAT, I have not purchased the home and won’t be able to purchase it until I have a quote.
So over a few hanging dropped ceiling tiles about $50 in a basement they lost my trust, my business and I will never do business with this company.
How could I fix something on a home I had yet to own. And how do I own the home if Travelers won’t quote me due to a few out of place dropped ceiling tiles in a basement.
I gave up and within 30 minutes signed up with Geico whom I have auto insurance. They took care of the paperwork and contacting my loan agent to complete the process.
Go with Geico and forget about Travelers.

Hired an engineering firm to file a report of lies
The snow sagged my roof, travelers hired an engineering firm who lied and stated that this was already that way. It was not. They took 2 months to send the report; never sent a letter to let me know the disposition of the claim. Sorry company, they will lie, cheat, but sure want you to pay your premium. I canceled the same day I called and found out they denied my claim based on the lies from the bafoon engineer from Forensics Engineering. Don’t waste your time or money with this crooked company; they sure are NOT on your side and are NOT going to help you. This company is spineless and very deceptive, they cannot be trusted. Please save yourself the misery of dealing with them.

Supervisors are Committed to Customer Satisfaction
We were in a four-car accident that was found quickly to be not our fault. It was a Sunday and we needed to quickly arrange a rental car for Monday for my husband. Traveler’s could not help us because the day of the week. Our car, which we loved, was took to the state-recommended tow lot. Traveler’s couldn’t figure out what adjuster was responsible for reviewing our claim. But they did tell us that we might have to pay car rental fees out-of-pocket. We were livid by the treatment and had our claim escalated to supervisors. The supervisors were SPECTACULAR! They made sure our claim got looked at and continuously checked in with our regarding our service. As more problems arose (amount of the settlement was based on inaccurate estimates of the wrong car, No response from claims adjusters, Removing our stuff to the Traveler’s Impound lot without our notice or a way to get things back, etc), the supervisors continuously stepped up to rectify the situations. In the end it all worked out wonderfully because of two or three select supervisors. It shouldn’t be this way, only have competent people at the top, but it is and that we can live with as an option, as long as those people try to continue to improve their organization. A LOT more training needs to be given to people who are in non-management positions. But, we TRUELY appreciate the work done by managers to make sure customer needs are truly met.

Travelers has by far the cheapest insurance option out there for me, but after going through a small auto accident and medical claim, they completely threw me under the bus and did not even come close to covering the auto or medical expenses. I would have been much better off putting my insurance premium in the bank and paying for this out of my pocket then relying on these crooks.

Don't Use This Company!
Travelers’ way of taking care of me (the insured) is to patch or repair storm hail damages done to my 23 year old roof and aluminum siding. Two-toned siding (replacing only damaged siding pieces) and a patched roof (replacing only damaged shingles) decreases the value of your home, and is an eye-sore to the neighborhood. I won’t let them do it even though it will cost me out of pocket”. I didn’t expect to do that being “insured”. My neighbors on both sides of my house, behind me, down the street from me, and across the street from me, ALL received a new roof through their insurance companies because of storm damage. Two different contractors showed me photos of old storm damage (2010 hail storm when Travelers first denied a new roof) and new damage (2016 hail storm). Travelers inspectors see minor damages to my house that only warrant repairs (patches), costing less than my deductible. I have been with this company 15+ years and didn’t know of their POOR customer service until filing my first claim in 2010. I am seeking other options.

Horrible company!!! I bought an auto policy in May 2016 and Travelers asked me to submit some proofs of my previous coverage. I uploaded everything to their web site and thought I am good now, but NO. In the end of May I received a letter that my premium will be raised for $75 . I did not understand nothing from that letter because for the explanation Travelers wrote change automobile”. So I decided to call them… and that’s where the fun begins! After waiting 30 min for a representative to find the answer she finally told me she need to speak with her director because she doesn’t see the reason why my premium has to be increased. The next day she called me and said that they didn’t receive a proof, later in 3 minutes she said that they received a proof… and every time like oh, let me see here, oh let me check this. I am not stupid and I can say that when the person can not answer your question directly she is just lying and trying to make some time to come up with a new idea. So in the end she said that she doesn’t see my policy from 4 years ago. I explained that I only have my driver’s license for 3 years and 10 months as well as the car and that’s when she found the perfect answer. She said that my quote was based on 4 years non-stop policy and since I only have 3yr and 10 month I don’t qualify!!!
Where have you been when I purchased it?! No one ever asked me for how long I have policy and they just decided to give me that “discount” to charge extra money in the future when I already purchased my premium! Liars all I have to say!!!

The Worst Insurance Ever!!!
This is the worst insurance agency ever! I’ve been with this company for over 10 years, and all the sudden they dropped my policy because I never mailed them telling them if my cars and garage kept or not. I would have never known my policy was dropped until I noticed I wasn’t get the insurance cards in the mail. They let me drive around for months with out telling me I had no insurance on my car. Then when I tried to renew my policy the wouldn’t allow it, and they wanted to raise the price. NEVER EVER CHOOSE TRAVELERS INSURANCE! THEY ARE BY FAR THE WORST INSURANCE COMPANY

Incompetent Adjuster
I have put a claim based on a hail storm in March 2016 in DFW area. The first adjuster missed a lot of damages like Fences, Garage Door, Solar Screen, other surface damages. Unfortunately, the adjuster showed up 1 day before another hail storm. So, they said the damage was caused by the 2nd hail storm. We have to file another claim with another deductible where I had gone on a walk through earlier on the day the 2nd hail storm hit. So we had to prove that the damage was from the 1st hail storm which we did but they still not budging. NO COMPASSION and NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL. I will not renew with them and will look for another insurance provider as soon as the case settled or in this case dragged.

PITTIFUL VERY BAD COMPANY
OUR HOUSE PAYMENT WENT UP FROM 569.00 TO 1,400.00 BECAUSE OF INSURANCE INCREASE. MADE A CLAIM WHICH ALL THE THINGS THAT WERE DAMAGED WASN’T FIXED DUE TO WIND DAMAGE. THEN THE THINGS THEY WOULDN’T FIX WAS THEN THAT LIST OF THINGS THEY DIDN’T FIX WAS SENT IN A LETTER TO US THAT THEY WANTED US TO FIX ALL OF THOSE THINGS OR THEY WOUKLD CANCEL OUR INSURANCE. WE OWE ABOUT 76,000 ON A HOME WORTH 135,000 AND THEY SAID ALSO WE WOULD NEED TO GET COVERAGE TO COVER THE COST OF A NEW HOME LIKE WE HAVE FOR 425,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO WE FIXED ALL THE THINGS AND THEN CANCELLED ON THEM AND FOUND ANOTHER INSURANCE COMPANY. AGAIN WORST COMPANY IN THE WHOLE STATE OF ALABAMA GLAD WE NO LONGER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THAT SORRY COMPANY AGAIN.

This is a bad insurance
so i got this insurance, paid for the year, then 3 months later they bill me for 300 dollars more. after i had already paid off for the year. bad customer service, when around in a loop trying to find out why i was getting bill again. i canceled the insurance for State Farm which is a little bit less but i get the same coverage plus they cover a second car and renters insurance.

1 Claim and they Canceled us
We just got done getting a new roof on our house after wind damage finally fished up what hail damage had started. The roofing company had to fight with Travelers to get an extra $300 for an additional layer of roof removal. We got a letter in the mail today saying Travelers is not renewing our homeowners policy (we have our cars with them too), citing roof is severely deteriorated and needs to be replaced. Siding has peeling paint.” Well, obviously the roof needed repair, that is why we made the claim. So… basically they are canceling us because the house needs painted. Unbelievable. Never made a claim in the 20+ years we’ve owned the house. They cancel us after our only claim.

Stay Away from Travelers
This is the the worst insurance company I have ever been with. I was directed there through an agent who promised me that if I bundle my renters insurance and auto insurance as well as payroll deductions, I would get a greater discount. After an hour on the phone, we agreed to the price of $1548. In two months, my coverage jumps to $1825.2 without sending me any notification. When I tried to reach out to them to get answers, I was given the old run around ( drop calls”, line transfer, long hold, voice mails) you name it. As a result, I decided to terminate the service. They continue to send me a bill and threaten to take me to the collection agency ( ruin my credit score) if I did not pay. I called them again to investigate the reasons why my insurance balloon without my knowledge. They replied that they need ” proof of continous coverage” prior to their service. I called up my old insurance company and send them my documents. They told me that this was all they needed and that I will be given a refund back. I hear nothing for the next 2 days and decided to email them. They told me that because my coverage did not meet their expectations, they cannot honor that refund. I did more research on this company and found that I am not alone. There are many others who are scammed by this evil corporation TRAVELERS. They will give you what you want to hear and increase the cost behind your back due to hidden fees and missing documents that was never specified in the original agreement. Please do yourself a favor and stay away from here. I do not want innocent people to get screwed by Travelers. When it’s too good to be true, it is.

policy cancelled after a single burglary claim
I’d had Travelers homeowner insurance for 18 years, since buying my house. The were recommended by the mortgage lender. Policy seemed to offer good coverage. 1800 per year. Last year, a single breakin by a workman who’d been repairing my roof, took more than I’ll reveal here. But a lot. Most of which was excluded from the coverage (jewelry, etc) The payout was according to the policy, but a fraction of the actual loss. Then, come renewal time, they declined to renew. wouldn’t even give me a clear reason. After 18 years. Don’t trust these assholes. they do NOT have your back.

poor customer service
Never received my bill. No Reminder Notice nor an email was sent to me. They refused to remove the $10 Late Fee and admitted we have no mechanism for sending out a Reminder nor the ability to reverse a late fee. I’m changing companies and informed Geico they need to reconsider using Travelers for Rental/Homeowner policies.

Cost is Good but overall horrible company
Customer service is very rude, unaccomodating for long term customers. ideal if you pay at one time otherwise you will never receive an invoice then when you do there will be a bunch of hidden fees added to cost. When you call and say you never received an invoice, they do nothing. Understandable why this is the low cost provider since customer service is horrible, miss sending invoices, and have operators that will frustrate you.

Look elsewhere Customer Service is a joke
I recently moved and needed to switch my Auto Insurance to my current states. I went with Travelers because a coworker said they have always been good to them. Anyways got my quote and paid and they requested proof i had my previous carrier for 5+ years. I tried my best to provide proof sending in as much information as I had available. Anyways they cancelled my policy and never told me and 2 months i went without out because they cancelled it over proof. Anyways i called them and tried to start my insurance back up and they said they couldnt provide insurance to me and i should look elsewhere. Never would recommend Travelers to a friend

Cancelled after 25 years
I had Travelers homeowners insurance for 25 years. Never made a claim until the end of last Winter. We had a terrible winter and one section of our roof started leaking. It leaked into a bedroom and the sheetrock came down.
I decided to makes a claim. The adjuster was great! Set an appt., came at the appointed time and cut us a check on the spot. My husband is a carpenter and he said there would be no problem with my husband doing the work. No mention was ever made of an inspection or follow up.
Almost a year later, I got a letter saying that we are not going to be renewed. They claimed they never got underwriting information on a timely basis. Neither I, nor my agent ever got a request for any information after the check was written.
I offered to send them pictures of all the repairs done and they still refused us.
This is clearly an issue of them cancelling us because we made a claim. The agent said not to pursue this and she already found me another insurance agency. But what will this cost me?

nightmare extremely poor service
Travelers was very good about taking my money year after year, now that a costly water damage has occurred my family is breathing and dealing with black mold and a destroyed kitchen but that does not seem to be a concern to Travelers as this occurred nearly two months ago and no work has began and no approval to even start they just keep passing you around to different agents no end in sight yet. Stay away from Travelers unless you are a charitable person

Do not go with Travvelers
With travelers 15+ years always payed bills on time. One day I was rear-ended at a stop sign. I contacted my traveler agent and I was referred to travelers claim adjuster William Middlebrook. What a ashole that is, first thing he told me was that I should have my insurance pay for damages. When I asked him why on earth would I want that, that he caused me of refusing to corporate. About two years after that I bought a different vehicle and my premium went up. That’s when I switched to Harleysville insurance and my premium was cut more that half for better coverage. So not only Travelers Insurance has terrible people working for them, they greatly overpriced. And when you cancel your policy with them they have cancellation fee. And if you argue about that with them they will send collectors after you

OMG WOW rip-OFF worth $1271 but only gave $790 F-
A client of Travelers Insurance took out my fence and my gate plus damaged my land and trees. TRAVELERS INSURANCE told me we know what you have is worth at least $1271 but we are only giving you $790. Giving only 6 hours labor for a 2 day job. Wanting me to hand dig the large fence posts out of the ground. This company only gave 6 hours to remove my damaged fence and install new. Plus fix land and damage trees. They have left many 50+ pieces of glass and sharp car parts across my property some are large. Travelers Insurance is / was a BIG Disappointment. I give this company an F rating.

So stressful!!! Horrible!
This was my first time ever filing a claim in my life. My first time having renters insurance. I didn’t think insurance companies were this ruthless. My adjuster Mary Carter Sidnow was so rude and treated me like a criminal. My pipes busted and I had water damage throughout my whole house. I was displaced for a month and I serious dreaded having to deal with her. My landlord and contractor also felt that she was rude and cold. When i asked her multiple times for her supervisors number, the first time, she ignored me then the 7th time, she hung up in the middle of giving it to me and denied it afterward. They are snakes! I can’t wait until my policy is over in a couple months. I will surely switch to a better insurance. I guess it was my fault they were the first company I called and just decided to go with them. I should’ve read the reviews.

Unfair claims- BEWARE
This company is the absolute WORST! I have been paying high premiums for the longest time. I was involved in a horrible car accident involving 3 cars (including a huge pick-up truck). I was diagnosed with moderate to severe hearing loss because of the hard impact. I had a 500k bodily injury policy + uninsured/underinsured motorist claims and wished to redeem it. I am a classical violinist and have been my whole life and my career depends SIGNIFICANTLY on my ability to hear. Travelers insulted my livelihood tremendously by continuously offering the lowest settlement payout possible, even after I had an attorney fight for very fair compensation. I was told my case was worth 500k by my attorney, but travelers would not pass 200k in a settlement before going to court. Do NOT waste your time + money paying high premiums with this god awful company when they aren’t going to take care of you as they promise.

Horrible people. Filed a claim stating I was struck by a semi truck who made an illegal turn into my lane totaling my car, the managers at travler said semi trucks need more space to turn, so i had to have been driving on the side walk to try and beat the semi truck around the turn. Denied claim, and won’t WILLINGLY pay for my damages . They all know they’re in the wrong, they just like to push over who they can to save them money. Unfortunately for them I will be taking this much farther, because their story is balogna. Pray you don’t ever have to deal with them. It’s truly a loss, even if youre not at fault. Agents were, Stefan Wyatt and Tyson Wells. Only reason they got one star is because none isn’t an option.

Cruel and unprofessional.....
I am in the process of relocating and have purchased a house…..I had this company for my auto insurance but since I was relocating, I decided to check what they could do on my homeowners….
The representative asked me if there would be any dogs at the residence. As we talked, I explained that although we had 2, we regretfully were considering giving the large dog to a close friend, who will give her a loving home. Anyway, I told him the story and said we still had her currently so if he wanted to quote it with both that is fine….he asked what breeds they were and I told him. Layla is a mixed breed Rotweiler and American Bull Dog). This representative placed me hold for a moment, and then came back and said, I’m sorry but we can not be the underwriters for you homeowners policy…” and proceeded to tell me that we owed a “restricted breed” of dog. He then told me that he could not provide with me a quote …..not today, or ever !! I was floored and explained that I even told him we weren’t bring Layla with us………His reply was, “It doesn’t matter, now that we know you have this dog, we will not be your policy holder”
This gets better !!! I responded with, “Are you serious? And for how long will this be the case?” He then told me that would never again be considered unless I submitted proof that we no longer had the dog…..he then said, “…and simply say you left her with a friend or family is not considered proof. You will need to show a written document from an animal shelter stating that they have acquired the dog ….or A VETERINARIAN BILL STATING THAT THE DOG HAS BEEN EUTHANIZED ” ……!!!!! Really ???? This representative should be euthanized as it would do the world a favor !!!

Worst Customer Service & Scammers
I had them for auto insurance before I began seeing hidden charges. I cancelled them and moved to Geico who are great. I needed renters insurance and Geico uses Travelers for it so I’ve had no choice but to go with them for it. Their customer service sucks. They wouldn’t remove a $10 late chge from a bill when I never received the original bill. I went to Geico and they immediately removed the charge for me but Travelers? They couldn’t be bothered. If it means them losing a penny they will not help you at all. By all means stay clear of this company. They are money grubbing rude scammers.

Horrible Car Insurance Company!
These guys are money-hungry! They overcharged me for MONTHS. I was able to find the same coverage for less than half of what I was paying with Travelers. Not to mention that upon cancellation of my policy, and being told I didn’t owe any other money, they went into my bank account and drafted out another payment. I am so angry, and they refuse to keep their word. They are liars, money-sucking leeches. WORST WORST WORST COMPANY EVER!

I got a speeding ticket two years ago going 46 in a 35. The doubled my premium from $450.00 to 850.00 every six months. I have never filed a claim with them. I cancelled my policy today.

Appalled by Travelers
Needed new insurance. My parents are with traveler’s so I spoke with them. Got a quote of $79/month and signed up on the spot. 30 minutes later, the guy calls back and says he made a mistake, it will be $96/month.
Ouch, but ok. I can shop around later. So a few months in to my policy I get a new credit card and my autopay to travelers is declined. I log in to make the payment manually and update my billing info… and I see I owe $233 for 2 months.
Wait. $96 + 96 = 192. Confused, I call customer service. They explain to me that 2 months prior, they had done an audit of my account and found ANOTHER mistake they had made, so they increased my policy by $10/month.
Now I’m already annoyed by this apparent bait + switch game they’re playing but… $106+106 = 212… not my bill of $233.
I ask the guy on the phone and he explains that they are not just charging me an extra $10 going forward…. nope. They are ALSO charging me an extra $10/month back to the inception of my policy.
This not only makes NO SENSE (it is impossible for me to travel back in time to 3 months ago, crash, and need to make a claim), but is WRONG. I did not agree to this new quote.
The guy on the phone is completely indifferent.
Needless to say, I got a quote with Geico in less than 15 minutes that is saving me $34 per month. My entire family is appalled by Travelers idea of customer service and is switching ALL their policies as well.

I only had this insurance for a few short months. THANKFULLY! Every week it was something that they had a problem with. I recently received a letter in the mail stating that because since THEY couldn’t find my out of state driving record, they were canceling my insurance. I’ve already been with them for 3 months before they sent me this.. When I called my insurance agent, Ralph, the number that I was given to reach him was disconnected. I will happily switch my insurance. I will never suggest or recommend such a ridiculous joke of an insurance company.

I insured my car with GEICO and their rep gave me an enticing quote for my house policy with Travelers thru Geico. So I switched. Now, pay attention to these dates – 11/26/15 policy went in effect, 1/19/15 Travelers sent me 2 notices;
1. A billing notice informing that they are refunding my money, minus 3 months used” – I paid for the year upfront.
2. Notice of cancelation, effective 2/15/16, due to their “inability to complete physical inspection of property”, which they “could not locate” and, disregarding my request, never contacted me to arrange viewing – I own the house for 14 years and all these years it was insured without any hustle, or even inspections, from other insurance companies.
I’m glad they pushed me out – after reading these reviews, I wouldn’t TRUST or stay with Travelers anyway!”

CANCELING AS SOON AS I CAN
I regret ever having Travelers as my insurance. Sadly, we’ve had them for years and never had problems because we never had a claim! Well, now I have just moved into a townhome that the lovely former owners left me cracked seals between shower tiles. It took plumber, hole in the kitchen and not construction company to be replacing my whole shower area. Travelers have simply ignored my calls and e-mails with promises to get back to me this week” . Just like the saying goes they just want your money they had no real attempt to ever replacing the bad damage that has happen to my house”. I had a tenant that badly purposely messed my house and destroy it called my insurance company they spent weeks on an investigation I had reports from different government agencies police pointing the finger at the tenant and they still denied me. Unprofessional Business Practices
We had Travelers Insurance for approximately five years. I was involved in a collision while driving a state owned patrol car. I was not found at fault or cited for the collision however Travelers raised my yearly rate over $400. I called and spoke with my agent who corrected the problem and admitted that my driving recorded showed I did not contribute to the collision and my rate should not have been increase. Called and got insurance with USAA the next day and saved approximately $1000 a year compared to my raised rate with Travelers. I feel this way a unprofessional way of conducting business on Travelers part.

NO LOYALTY after 45 years!!!
Been with this company over 40 years and they canceled our policy this year with a 30 day notice sent through the mail. Reason given was two claims made within a 5 year period. Total amount was well under $10,000 ($6,100) and apparently it’s all about the number, not amount of claim. Having paid this company a ton of money for nearly HALF A DECADE and getting back a cancellation for such a small amount of claim, I feel it is imperative to warn others. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! THEY WILL TOSS YOU OUT LIKE YESTERDAYS TRASH IN A HEARTBEAT.

I’m insured by travelers – recently my wife had an accident by another travelers customer. They fought me at every step, wanting to put used and previously damaged parts on my 2.5 year old car. Compromised where I shouldn’t have but after a month of dealing with them I gave up trying. Trying to get them to give me anything close to what I will lose on depreciation value on the car – no such luck. Treated like crap the whole process rude and disrespectful agents, had to stay on top of the issues myself to make anything happen. Go somewhere else – canceling my policy and leaving. They’re crooks.

Increased Premiums
Our agent was great. We got the best price from him using Travelers for the new house we built. However, even though we’ve never filed a claim, in Just 3 years time, our policy premium doubled in price. Got quotes from other insurance companies, and our new premium with a different insurer is what we were paying 3 years ago. It definitely pays to shop around.

HORRIBLE CLAIMS EXPERIENCE
They didn’t stick up for us, their client, when we told them we weren’t at fault. We even hired a lawyer to defend us AND them. They proceeded to pay off the other party without letting us know and didn’t even bother reaching out to us to get all of the medical bills I had piled up squared away after doing so. It has been more than a year and while I was under the impression all of my bills had finally been paid, I recently received a letter from a debt collector saying I still owed the hospital some money. This horrible experience that sent me to the ER only got worse and has lasted more than a year. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS.

Very deceitful
Made a claim, they were nice on the phone, but when it came to settling, they went back on their word. They say they didn’t say that. Make sure you email them and put things in writing. Phone conversations, be sure to specify that you want all bills paid for also on top of the settled amount. They seem to want to work with you but will low ball you because that’s their job. When you find a number that’s reasonable and want to settle, they go back on their word and say that’s included with the med bills or say sorry but this is all I have to settle. That company really sucks and I won’t even watch the golf tournament sponsored by them now. Very sad. Everyone thinks they might be a good company until you have to deal with a claim from or with them. Don’t let them fool you. If I could rate them zero stars I would.

They Canceled Us Within The First Week
I spoke with the agent on the phone and told them we built a manufactured home on 10 acres. They said no problem. We got things going and the agent came out and inspected the property, no surprises except he could not find the home resgistration plate ““ whatever that is, we had no clue. I get the policy and pay the bill and a week later they call us to cancel the policy saying they do not insure mobile homes. I said it is a manufactured home, not a mobile home and that I already told them what it was when getting the quote. (Honestly do not think they know the difference) They did not care an canceled the policy in 2 days. So I had to find other insurance in two days. A miserable experience. I think the inspector filled out the paperwork wrong saying it was a mobile home. Not impressed.

Beware. Gives you initial quote to get you in the door then audits account 6 months later and charger 20% more. If you refuse to pay the higher anount they take you to collections for 40% more than quoted price. Criminals. Do not use. Do not use

Poor handling of new Insurers
We decided to change Insurance to Travelers for the savings, but it ended up costing us a whole lot more. They canceled without notification of a few minor things that we could have corrected in a few days. We were given no time to make the corrections and were notified by a call from our mortgage company and a check in our mail box the same day. The small repairs could have been made within a couple days but we were given no warning or consideration to even fix the few things that needed fixing. Awful business practices. This happened to us a little over a year ago, but I decided to post now as they just did the exact same thing to our son who had purchased his home just recently. He was told he had until a date next month, yesterday and the cancellation check was in the box today. Sounds like a racket to me. I would NOT recommend Travelers to anyone…the headache and extra cost of scrambling to get coverage is more costly than just avoiding this company. We spent about $400 more trying to get coverage so as not to lose our mortgage.

Shady Company!
My husband was in a car accident and injured by someone who had Travelers Insurance a few months ago. The person admitted fault and took full responsibility. The car was totaled. No one from the insurance company contacted him. So 5 days later we contacted them. They were extremely RUDE. Tried to get my husband to admit fault. Shady company! His vehicle was paid off, but medical bills, pain/suffering, and days missed work haven’t been paid. They won’t even return our phone calls (left 5 messages last week). This accident put us in a hardship and they could care less. We are considering hiring an attorney to help us since it’s pretty clear they will not offer us a fair settlement and are in no rush. Terrible company! (I will edit my review if they rectify the situation in a prompt manner).

Cheap lying bastards
Flood damage only a $3600 damage, $1000 deductible so their out of pocket was only $2600, denied claim because it was not caused by NEGLECT! WTF! The valve failed and water damaged the office space downstairs! They wanted the tenant downstairs to submit to their insurance company! Argued for 3 months ended up paying out of pocket and finding SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper insurance. Complete pricks! The red umbrella is to keep their clients blood off of themselves!

I moved from Colorado to Alabama and when I got to alabama I noticed some stuff was missing. I called to file a claim and from the 1st second I was treated as a criminal. I have had travelers for 2 and a half years and I had no choice but to drop my claim. My claim was not big enough to cover what a attorney would have cost me. Travelers will do anything to get out of paying a claim. Just read the reviews. If you have traverlers and you have to file a claim give them as little information as you can as they will use it against you.

Raises insurance
Have been with Travelers for over 5 years. My rate for car and home has gone up over $120 for no apparent reason. The rep has horrible customer service.

I had been a customer of travelers since 1998. In all those years I had only filed 1 claimed. The claim was researched and paid. Afterwards my monthly premium tripled. I received no notification of the increase and absolutely no loyalty as a customer of more than 16 years.

Nightmare
Was easy to set up this account and the price was right. Ultimately, though, you get what you pay for. I submitted a claim for lost wedding ring and provided receipt and appraisal. The response was to find some scammy appraiser to show some ridiculous low-ball amount. Ultimately it barely covered the deductible, so I netted $100 on a loss of > $1000. Immediately post-claim we moved business to a trusted agent a friend knows. Oh, and the customer service was horrendous, felt like they thought it was a game or negotiation to see who could win.
No ulterior motive, but just hope people who read this can avoid my fate. This was simply bad business and a nightmare to deal with.

Unable to make repairs, will not ok estimates
I explained the issues. The word count was 161 and it would not accept the review. Travelers has denied payment for multiple estimates to have my home returned to pre-accident status. They have been so cheap additional damages have occurred. They did not used to be this way. I want my house, roof, yard, & fence returned to their previous state before a Very Large tree fell down.

Horrific Billing and Service
I have had nothing but trouble with Travelers since 2012 when I first starting using them for workers compensation insurance for my small business. Today, for example, I received a call from a collections agent for a bill that was DUE on 9/1/15. That’s 13 days ago, and I had paid the bill. 13 days = collections. No phone call. No notice from Travelers. Nothing. The customer service rep. basically said, Well, I’m sorry you feel that way, but there’s nothing I can do about it.
Their annual audit system (hours billed vs. hours actually worked) is a nightmare. Travelers does not provide ANY documentation showing how your bill has been adjusted based on the actual hours worked. For example, if you pay $500 for 20,000 hours of labor, but your staff only work 15,000 hours, Travelers provides nothing to you after the audit to clarify your bill. No invoices are provided. No audit results are provided.
When I wrote to complain, I received no responses. So, as of today, I’m switching over to a new WC insurance company.
Travelers Insurance can go to hell in a handcart.

Excellent customer service!
I have only been a customer of Traveler’s for about 2 months now, and had to make my first call to customer service today. My old policy ended 3 days before I signed up with Travelers, and I recently got notice from the DMV about the lapse, and some documentation they needed. I called in to Travelers so that someone could send the paperwork to the DMV. I can’t remember the woman’s name who helped me, but she was SO upbeat and friendly. You could tell that she enjoys doing her job and helping people. After placing me on a brief hold, she came back to get a few more pieces of info and was able to submit the paperwork that they requested online. Her great attitude, and the quick way she helped me was very appreciated. Good customer service is hard to come by and it made my day to have such a good experience.
My overall experience with Travelers so far has also been great. The rate that I have was over $80 cheaper than what I found with other companies, and my coverage is a little better. Making payments online is easy, and as explained above the customer service so far has been great. I have not filed a claim or had any accidents, but I feel confident that should anything happen, they will take care of it quickly and happily.

Bad Service
After filing a claim I had no idea where to take my vehicle. The only guidance I received was you can take it to any body shop. After getting my car into a shop and requesting a rental car the representative booked a rental for an enterprise several miles away when there was one in the shop I went to. The agent was very rude the day of pick up and was arguing with me and the mechanic. I had to call a manager and after being on hold almost ten minutes finally got the issue resolved. Discussed I wanted to file a complaint and he said he was not the representatives manager so would pass it along. It’s been 2 weeks now and no one has gotten back to me from the company. I called my personal agent and they have also tried contacting Travelers with no response. Meanwhile the other people involved in the accident got their car fixed the same week and seemingly received great customer care. I will not be renewing with this company and am very disappointed with the service.

Father passed away trying to cancel policy
Was on with Travelers for over an hour trying to cancel my fathers policy. We sold his house and 3 months later I started getting bills from Travelers. Called them to cancel it and they wanted every piece of paperwork I had to cancel it. Tried to tell them that they were not insuring anything at this time and the house sold. They should have received copies of the closing documents. Needless to say, NO”. Talked to Don who is supervisor of the claims department. As she put it I am the supervisor here either do it the way I tell you or we will take you to court to get the money. Oh buy the way the policy we were trying to cancel was one that was going into place. Finally, it became easier to just say, “He is burred at Fort Logan cemetery and if you want to send your bill collector out and try and get money then go ahead.: “

double premium in 1 year
More than doubled insurance rate in one year with no claims, and no explanation. Agent was a joke, no help whatsoever. They must be paid a percentage of Traveler’s charges–agent told us they can do what they want. We moved auto last year because of unexplained increase, now we will move HO as well. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

property condition cancellation
Ever get cancelled as the result of a visual property inspection by Mueller Inspections, Inc? You may be next if your house paint is peeling, you have a roof vent that isn’t perfectly vertical, or your storage shed needs siding. I currently have two properties and two vehicles insured by Travelers, but I seriously doubt that will be the case in a month or so.

Zero service, angry at cost
This is a true account. I posted this review on another site, I swear it is 100% accuarte.
My wife and I had Traveler’s auto AND homeowners for 15+ years. We are both professionals with postgraduate degrees and more than 10 years each employed with our respective companies, both with no debt and excellent credit, and had NEVER missed an insurance payment. Home completely paid for. It seemed at the time, and for many years after, to be inexpensive and convenient.
15 years later,I got a speeding ticket. Let me reiterate, we were both 40+yo in white collar jobs, with NO prioir claims, ever. Less than 10mph over the limit. Traveller’s dropped me, saying I was eligible to reapply for coverage after at least 3 years. My wife’s auto coverage alone increased to MORE than our combined full coverage auto + home. PLUS, what, Traveller’s did NOT tell me, is that they also dropped my wife’s auto insurance, even with no violations in 20 years, because I alone got ticketed. Why were they still billing us, even though she/we were dropped? We were NEVER informed of this, and she was unknowingly to both of us, driving uninsured for about 2 months before I switched both our policies.
In the end, I switched us both to the gecko” insurance, with IDENTICAL home+auto coverage, better customer service, and saving slightly over $2K/year. This is completely true.

Just applied for it through geico, some idiot comes to our house unannounced taking pictures,I was told by geico I would be called and apt. made.
He has down make unannounced visit. I did not call and complain, I was irritated. Now I get a letter from them they are canceling our insurance because we had debris all over our yard! We live on 2.5 acres, with barn. we do not have debris all over our yard! Also said tree too close to barn plus t-lock shingles and amount too low for replacement. No option to fix anything, just cancelled. Will never buy traveler’s again. Will tell everyone I know don’t buy it.

Unethical cancelation & premium raise
Travelers sent me a cancel notice quoting the reason that a home of the size I have – needs Central Alarm Monitoring. After speaking to their Cust. Service, I thought that was a good idea anyway, spent a few hundreds to get this installed, but when I called Travelers again, they said that they’d double the premium anyway – quoting the reason that it is insufficiently covered (which they never stated earlier). Incidentally the dwelling etc. was already covered 25% over total market value of the property – and I never had any claims. This shows a complete lack of business ethics.

WORST CHOICE EVER!!!
This company represents the worst of how insurance companies love to take your premiums every term (and they better be on time) and then after many (30) years without any claims, they resort to any loophole they can to avoid paying you a dime! Had a tree limb fall on my house with damage visible even to the adjuster when he visited and yet they denied any payment on my 1st claim in 30 years!! Why the hell do we even have insurance?! Insured my home with travelers for over 5 years, was forced to move due to military obligations. Kept the home insured with Travelers for 18 months, then was contacted to explain why correspondence mailed to me at my (now former) address was returned to sender (and I received this at my new address). After getting that sorted out, I thought, I was emailed asking for a phone number (which had been provided numerous times before) about something urgent regarding the insurance on my former residence. Contacting them revealed that they do not insure rented or vacanct homes (but they do take your money if you’re willing to send it to them faithfully). VERY POOR Customer service, and as a result, we switched coverage to a company willing to work with military members regarding insurance on multiple properties (current and former residences that are in the process of being bought and sold).

Terrible Service
I’ve had Travelers auto, home and business insurance for over 10 years. As soon as I file one claim they turned on me. They refused to pay to have my vehicle repaired. They also cancelled half of my coverage and then proceeded to raise the rates on the remainder of the insurance that I still had to a ridiculous amount. They made it very clear that my business was not valued and they didn’t about my injuries or my damaged vehicle. I immediately switched all my insurance to another carrier and saved $300 per year.

Outrageous! HO policy price went up 356% over five years. No claims, no changes, payments paid by mortgage bank on time, what more could Travelers ask for? 356%, that’s what! Price went from $830 to over $2,330.

Never had a problem with home insurance until them
Received low quotes from a friendly sales rep. Went ahead and switched home & cars. Then I receive a letter stating I failed their inspection of my property & I must fix several issues or they would cancel my policy by a certain date. The NEXT DAY I receive my money back stating I have been canceled. I fixed the issues and then call and am told to send pics of the improvements. I did so before set date. I then receive a letter back a couple weeks later stating I didn’t do so in time. By the time I received their letter it was past time, but not when I submitted the proof. They then upped my car insurance rate so I switched that away too.

Worst insurance company ever
We have had Travelers car insurance for five years or longer. A few of my children had accidents and they paid the claims. Prices went up so we had our children get their own insurance with other companies because they would not give us an umbrella policy because of the claims. A year and one half later they added one of girls back onto our policy, made it retroactive to six months previous, and raised our rates. She has her own insurance, but they said we have to pay for her but she would not be covered by Travelers! After being off their policy for nearly a year and one half, they said she should have never been taken off, even though they wanted her off. Don’t even consider them for your insurance! They are very dishonest!

Travelers may be a great company, that is, until you have a renters claim for theft. Then they himm and hawww, and run you around in circles for months and then send you a reservation of rights letter which basically tells you that they are thinking of denying your claim in the future. they assign an investigator to you who couldn’t find his own eyeglasses with both hands. It has now been four months since the claim has been filed and all I keep getting from the adjuster is the case is still under investigation.” This involved a pair of diamond and pearl earrings which were stolen by a woman who scammed me. Stay as far away from this company as feasibly possible! Insurance companies don’t make any money by paying claims. They make no money on premiums; they only make money by not paying claims or by cheating you and paying you less than the claim should be paid. I’m not holding my breath to see any monies whatsoever from this company. I’m cancelling my coverage. After all, what good is an insurance company who won’t pay a claim?

I made a claim in June 14, 2014 for roof damage replacement. I had difficulty for a roofer to come give me estimate despite my attempts to to have somebody come do one. This apparently caused Travelers to drop my policy. I finally got a roofer come in and is in the process to start the work.

Looking for a better price
I have lived in this house since Sept. 1978 and have filed only a few claims–2 new roofs because of hail storms, 2 hurricanes, and 2 minor claims in the master bathroom. I have maintained the house to the best of my ability. I added vinyl siding to cover wood on exterior and storm windows to all windows. All rooms except bathrooms have ceiling fans. It is in good condition. Travelers has been a good company but is getting too expensive. My current policy has a 1% deductible on all parts of the policy.

They refunded our policy premium after reinstating our policy and basically told me their records show that we did not..adjusters simply refused to speak. Canceled after 60 days due a false stated basis of determining the home was not owner occupied wouldn’t refute just said regardless of validity of basis for cancelin

How incompetent can an insurance Company be
First, the policy that I got with Travelers Ins. was fair at best. I am a safe driver, no speeding tickets, no accidents, and a super credit rating. Nevertheless, this company charged me over $500.00 per year with a $1000 deductible. I agreed to it because I was trying to group it with homeowners insurance, which was not readily available in Florida at the time. Second, these morons could not even document the correct VIN number and model of my auto on my policy despite the fact that I gave them the correct documentation. Third, I made the mistake of signing up for automatic payment. I’ve notified them that I am not renewing this policy but they consider an email notification insufficient to stop the automatic payment process. I have to submit a document signed by myself and a witness certifying that I want this service cancelled. Really????

Great communication
I have had 2 auto accident claims with Travelers over the past 2-3 years. One was my fault, one was the other driver, but he didn’t have insurance.
Travelers did an excellent job from start to finish.

great company- until you need to use them!
I was with travelers for 5 yrs as a renter, then 10 years as a homeowner. this past year we filed our first claim ever- tree fell and damage property in our yard, reimbursement and claims went smoothly- got just over $1,000.
Because of this ONE small claim in 15 yrs, they are not renewing our policy. so the point of having insurance with travelers would be….?!?!

Record Profits
Travelers reports surge in profits on lower catastrophe losses. My policy went up 35%. I’ve never put a claim in, have several vehicles with travelers but they increased my rates claimed I have to pay my share for their cost of doing business. However they are recording record profits, when the economy is bad. They are just taking advantage.

Raised my premium after being a loyal customer
After 5+ years of being their customer, they decided to raise my premium one thousand dollars and their explanation was that my credit score was bad. Totally bs’ing, because my score is 720+ and I have no accidents or violations. I have never made a claim, and I always pay in full for the premium.
