I was a first-time buyer back in mid 2019, with a run down, beaten up, unreliable sports car, and the insurance I had then was horribly expensive, but it was understandable. In 2020 I became entirely independent and needed a new policy of my own for a much newer and better vehicle. Even with those circumstances, (REDACTED NAME) gave me every discount and deal she could find and eventually we got my insurance down to under $100 with fantastic coverage! Then I got married and we’re both extremely happy with our even lower rates. Thanks (REDACTED NAME)!!!

OVER CHARGES & POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE
In early December 2019, I contacted my local State Farm branch and the agent Warren Middleton to cancel my car insurance since my wife and I had found a cheaper company with the same coverage. It was acknowledge and received for canceling on December 20, 2019. Five months later they are still charging my bank account each month so I called them. First it was Libby. She said the lady who was handling this did not put it through but is no longer working there. She said she would take care of it and a check would be sent out to me. Three weeks later, still no refund so I called back and talked with Mark since Warren was now always unavailable. Warren has not returned any of my calls or emails outlining the reasons why State Farm continues to charge me for insurance when it was cancelled 5 1/2 months prior. I called again, because now they renewed my 6 month premium and charged my card for $891.00. I’ve called the home office filed a complaint and still no response. I called again and the specialist named Enis hung up on me so now I’m even more ticked off and gonna call the state insurance commissioner. This agent and his team cannot be trusted or expected to handle a cancelation properly. One person at the home office said most likely what happened is the person who was supposed to cancel my policy kept it open so they could still collect their commissions. WHAT!!!! Is that not illegal? Times are tough, but my cancelation took place long before the COVID-19 pandemic hit and charging me without my permission is theft. Beware this agent and this office.

Took money without issuing policy
They took my money assuring me I was covered the day they had my money. Then sent an email a week later stating I had to fix a window that was not broken before they would issue my policy. I immediately cancelled. They fought me and I had to have another company make them cancel for me. Today I asked when I get my refund. They don’t know and said these things take time. They also said they had been advised to have no further contact with me. I do not recommend this company. I do recommend Farm Bureau.

Amazing
I have been with State Farm for 5 years and am very happy with my decision. My Agent is amazing and truly cares. Listening to others horror stories with other companies and their claims process, I’ll be staying with SF.
I will say they do need to concentrate on their claims being more timely and organized, but they do at least pay their claims.

After 10 years... the disappointment hiit me!
After 10 years of being insured with State Farm. They literally tripled the rate for a liability only 1989 Chevy Blazer, plus liability on a 2004 Chevy Tahoe was more than full coverage ona 2013 Toyota Camry. When speaking with my agent Jerry Austin, he was unable to explain the billing. There were two no fault accidents with the Camry one rear ended and one head on hit and run.(8&9 years into the policy) and 1 at fault with the Tahoe (no damages reported to either vehicle). State Farm paid absolutely $0 on any of the accidents. The last moving violation was in 2011. If you think for one second that paying this company for years and years will make you a part of the family… you’ve lost your mind. Managed to get increased coverage with a decrease in cost from Geico. Cheers all!

They helped me immensely!
I switched to State Farm when Progressive raised my rates to $540/month (ridiculous) and Jake Lancanster of Nathan Smith’s State Farm on Lake Michigan in Walker immediately gave me a quote that was $240 LESS per month. I can breathe again. He was kind and helpful, as was everyone in the office. It took less than a half hour and has made an enormous difference in my life and lifestyle. They were wonderful! I would highly recommend them.

cancelled for no reason
I was with Statefarm for over 30 years. I filed a claim over 10 years ago when lightening /surge damaged all my electrical equipment such as TVs and computers. I have not filed a claim since then but I received a letter from them cancelling my policy. My agent did not have the decency to let me know the policy was being cancelled. Terrible.

State Farm loses loyal customer
I have been a loyal State Farm customer for over 20 years. Excellent service until this year. I have had so many billing problems and my agent does not follow through. I will be looking for new coverage and am getting quotes now.

High Cost Lousy Service
This company’s agents are more interested in what’s in your pocket than they are for seeing to your needs. I am a married retired guy with no claims or tickets for auto, and never any claims for home insurance, and they overcharged me foe everything and put me in the wind pool”, and i don’t even live close to the beach. STAY AWAY!!”

State Farm sucks, don't get in an accident!
State Farm now qualifies as “cut rate” insurance, it’s not the cheapest but when you get in an accident you’re going to wait months if not years for response from their claims adjusters, they are unorganized, loose paperwork, and we’re now being sued in court because State Farm didn’t have our back when we were in an accident. They also did crap work on our car, plan on selling it because it’s obvious where it been in an accident and they don’t care about customer satisfaction.

Borderline criminal
State Farm Insurance is a classic, text book example of loyalty & brand abuse. Their policies, principles, service and leadership are on par with the worst insurance provider’s available on the market today. Essentially, they are charging a premium while providing abysmal customer service that is very much in alignment with the competitors they enjoy taunting with their sick marketing campaigns and gimmicky slogans. My experience with them has caused me to file multiple complaints with the state insurance committees and other so-called insurance governance institutions. Do not fall prey to their tactics, find an insurance company that actually gives you what you are paying for. Nothing State Farm is doing is ethical or righteous, they are simply making money off of the hardships suffered by tax-paying citizens all over the United States.

Avoid State Farm
No issues with agent but underwriting and customer loyalty is abysmal. I’ve been with SF somewhere around 30 years (maybe more) and it came time to renew my 20-year term life. Fifteen years ago I had successful heart surgery to repair a valve, did all prescribed follow-up appointments, and soon was off all medication. I recovered to the point I began swimming several miles a week (unbroken for 11 years now). I’m in far better shape than I was even 30 years ago when I began with SF. My new term application was denied because I didn’t continue seeing a cardiologist several years post-op. You see physicians primarily when you are unwell. No physical exam was conducted…just run through an actuarial table and kicked to the curb.

I have had home owners insurance with them for 15 years. My first claim EVER $3000 flood claim in our bathroom, they raised our insurance $1200 a year. I could have been ok with a couple hundred but it almost doubled. So disappointed a company would treat someone like that after 15 years. Switching all my polices. I have home, car and business with them.

Pleased with customer service. switched to new agent last year because I was not totally satisfied with previous agent. Brenda and others at Davidsons agency listened to and acted upon my concerns regarding what I was actually paying for. And Brenda did some research for me concerning water supply line coverage. (and other concerns). Very pleased with their customer service.

They don't know what the heck their agents scams.
Had hail damage on a 20 year old very large roof. Only the south half was damaged & so they only would pay for that. Of course, it is just NUTS do have half the house with a new roof and the other half with 20 year old weathered roof. The value of the property would be horrible. The agent wrote the insurance like that to have a lower price. Unethical idiots. I paid out of pocket and dumped them forever. Four buildings, 200 acre farm, they will never ever get to insure again.

They weren't there for me.
I had State Farm for over ten years. I never missed a payment and never had an issue. When my house burnt, it was devastating. They wouldn’t talk to me, wouldn’t help me, and acted like I was at fault from the beginning even though I wasn’t even home. After them dragging their feet for six months of perfect weather when I could have rebuilt, they finally gave me a little money for the house and released me to work on the house. They expected me to be able to get a contractor to build during the worst part of winter when no one would take a contract. Then, I received notification that I was being kicked out of my temporary residence even though I still had a year left on the contract. They basically told me too bad. I contacted the insurance board in my state, but State Farm lied to them and the board won’t help me. So, not only do I not get the money I paid for all of these years, my wife and I are now homeless. Save your money. I could have put my payments in a savings account and had less hassle than dealing with State Farm. They’re thieves. Never again.

INSURANCE IS USELESS BECAUSE THEY WON'T PAY!
We had this company insure 2200 sq ft rental home we own. The basement flooded due to record torrential downpour and to neighbor running ALL her roof water into a small swale between the homes. Have had the home 22 years, never made a claim (or had flood issue). Claim would have been for about $7,000 in cleanup by restoration company to certify mold free and restoring to previous state. They claimed it was due to main sewer drain and refused to pay. They lost multiple properties but steadfastly refused to pay . We’ve had claims once with Amica and once with Chubb on personal homes and never had a problem. This company is totally a scam company. We switched all properties the next day to Chubb for all properties. DO NOT USE THEM! YOU’LL REGRET IT! USELESS!!!

Changed Agent to fix the problem
Lou Grande, Norco CA has become a terrible agent (maybe too old now). Was with him over ten years with 6 cars/trucks a trailer and home owners, before I had to change agents. When Kathy retired, the new office staff that replaced her were tough, not explaining coverages and needs. I got a call when my drivers license expired, but the attitude was that I was in trouble and would have my insurance cancelled unless i immediately renewed it. So, I did. But, something wasn’t followed thru and 3 months after renewing my license, the DMV sent a notice of intent to suspend the cars’ registrations. Then I opened the usual looking envelopes from State Farm to find they cancelled the policies. And, the office had State Farm run a credit bureau check on me. Wow, what a sad and frustrating journey that Lou and his office could’ve saved me with a second call or better instructions. The two office staff couldn’t get Lou to contact me, explaining to me on the last call that he was out of the office for a week. I guess he’s getting tired and delegating all customer management to the new tough-love unhappy staff.

40+ Year Loyalty Means Nothing
Dad (WWII vet) was a State Farm client, so I became a State Farm client in the Seventies. I had always spoken highly of the company. My occupation required me to move to Europe for two years, but I returned to the State Farm fold upon my return. I never questioned my coverage or State Farm’s commitment to me. Rising premiums and rising deductibles seemed to be expected … until the deductibles we forced upon me for a few weather related claims (hail). Then claims were denied. Then pay outs were offered at such low levels that no contractors would work with us. Then, because our town does not have a state code officer, the company maintained that they were not liable to cover our loss according to state code. Therefore, payout on my current claim was about $5,000 short of what was needed to complete the job. Enough … I will never be a member of the State Farm “Family” again. Do yourself a favor … find a more ethical alternative.

I recently filed a claim for my car with state farm. I have been so impressed with how friendly the representatives have been. Everyone I talk with wants to help, and explains to me what is going on. I work mostly with Debi Wilcox, my state farm representative, and she is a really great communicator and just a great lady. My whole experience with state farm has been positive.

Disorganized. Uprofessional. Irresponsible
I worked w/ Barb Franks office for about 5 years. They were always on time when billing me, not so much on anything else. The office lost my address twice when I moved-sending bills to my old address years after I relocated (same state). They could never find my file when I called, consistently blaming their colleagues for mistakes–they could not (or were too lazy to) provide me w/ an itemized list of my insured equipment. This alerted me that they perhaps misplaced the serial numbers for my lenses, camera body etc… so I requested an itemized list of insured gear-again! And they WOULD NOT provide it. I could not believe it. That was it for me.
The entire staff is incredibly unprofessional, unreliable, and office management, if there is any, is utterly incompetent.
At the time, State Farm was the only agency that insured photographers. I have more options today & couldn’t be happier w/ my new agancy. This is the worst experience I have ever had and I should have left years ago. Good riddance! I tell every photographer I know NOT to use State Farm/Barb Frank.

FEEL CONNED and WHERES MY $$$.00
I was solicited by phone at random and told about savings. NO MENTION OF THE PLUG IN DEVICE TO MONITOR DRIVING! I CANCELED IMMEDIATELY AND AT one MONTH!! HAVE STILL NOT BEEN REFUNDED. The agent passes the blame on corporation sending to wrong address now reissuing ANOTHER check with no TRACKING! All the while I am out my money for renters and car insurance. State Farm failed me
Ive been with State Farm for 23 years (since I was 16) and recently filed my first claim. Everyone is super nice BUT my experience has been horrible. I often call to follow up to learn the process and be educated on what is going on. My experience has been that NOTHING was getting done until I called to followup. Also, there have been many cases where I asked for help and guidance and have been misinformed. I was the one that ended up screwed in the end. No one would help me! I also requested to speak to a supervisor and was told I could not speak to one. That I would have to talk to my claims rep, who then would talk to a supervisor for me. I have no hope. Claim is still ongoing. Accident was declared 100% the other party’s fault. I will switched insurance companies once this is complete. USAA is a bit pricier, but I will pay the difference for a better company!!

Failed
I have been with State Farm Insurance good or bad for over 30 years. My current house has been covered since 1997 by them. The only claim made was a grease fire in January of this year which cost around $6,000.00. Consider my surprise when I received a notice now cancelling my home owners insurance due to that one claim. I may be wrong, but apparently this is not a company that is looking beyond the bottom line. I am not sure what the trigger was for this, since one claim seems a bit of over kill. Maybe due to the fact that I have really had no major claims in all these years, I did not realize how bad of a company State Farm was. So now I research new home owners insurance and my auto will move also. It will cost me to move the auto insurance, but peace of mind is more important. Please share my message to hopefully help others.

Why is State Farm refusing claims for Named Storm”. They should be sending an adjuster out, then send the billing to NC Underwriters. That have closed their claims saying ITS NOT THEIR RESPONSIBILITY” NC Underwriters is saying they are sending an official letter to State Farm informing them of their responsibility. 9.27.18″

Had them for over 25yrs with no claims, I did try filing 3 claims during the 25yrs ..I was declined all 3 times, they said it was wear and tear when my roof was only 5yrs old and again when it was 10yrs old.

leaving St. Farm
We have used State Farm for over 30 years. We filed our first car claim and St. Farm denied it having no proof saying it was our word against the other driver. After the driver backed into my son’s car she sat and waited while he got out of the car. She then gave him her D.L which he took a picture of. She then denied to St. Farm that she hit him. St. Farm refuses to explain why she would wait for my son and then give him her info if she hadn’t hit him. They will not give us info on the damage on her car and my son’s car to show that it couldn’t have come from the accident. After many years paying St. Farm we are really disappointed that they have done so little to investigate. We will be moving to a different insurance company. The big shame is that our agent is great. It is useless, however, to have a great agent if he is not backed up by the company.

As a result apparently I have become a liability and I was dropped. Because those accidents both happened within the last 3 years it will cost me over $300 a month to get insurance from any other carrier. That means in the next 4 years I will pay another insurance carrier the total cost of my car. That is not insurance, that is a payment arrangement for the amount that I still owed the bank. I did not receive any tickets from either of these accidents and I don’t have any other tickets in the last 3 years. I will be screaming how terrible State Farm is to anyone who will listen.

Stop just short of stealing?
Stop just short of the line of stealing. That’s how it is for State Farm. Two separate mistakes they made meant that they owed me additional rental-car time. Faith in the Washington office even said that she was going to call me back.
No call came.
Of course, they can say that they gave the rental car, even though I was left without a vehicle for days and thus unable to function as I needed to.
There was never a thought of helping, but inversely, how to avoid help as much as possible to the point that I was in a bind that they created. And again, didn’t fix.

Leaving SF after 30+ years because of very poor service,high prices and a local office of Connie Baldwin in La Verne Calif that cant fight their way out of a paper bag.everytime we needed something the owner wasn’t there,the immature 18yr olds working in her office knew nothing,and they think theyre better than you…see ya

While passing through a parking lot looking for a parking space, I was hit by a car rapidly backing into me. I saw his backup lights come on and hit the brakes to let him out and to take his spot. I stopped with my front bumper in his space when he rapidly backed up hitting my front bumper on the right side causing damage to the right side of my bumper and knocking my fog light out. He apologized for not seeing me, and we exchanged information, I cleared his space to let him out, and he drove off. I drove ahead and took a different space to park. I filed the claim that day and learned that a witness had come forward to the other drivers defense. This was a lie. There were no witnesses to the event. state farm ruled that 80% of the fault was to the other driver and 20% to me. I told State farm that this was impossible because there was no witness, and I was stopped when hit by the other car backing into me. I was told the decision had been made and there was no changing it. My agent offered no help in changing it. He reluctantly looked at the damage to my bumper and could not deny that the damage was to the side of the bumper, and not to the front. I did not hit anything but was hit on the side while standing still. State Farm’s willingness to accept the testimony of a lying witness are complicit in this fraud. Go elsewhere for your insurance. I certainly am!

Former Employer Inside Secrets Review
The agent I worked for delayed claims so it didn’t “go against her stats.” ONLY cares about claims if it’s the OTHER company at fault. She’s bilingual, ONLY assisted foreigners which is unfair & discriminating. We called people for “reviews” ONLY those who don’t have LIFE INSURANCE to sell. If they came in they waited 1 hour to see her & 1-3 hrs in her office as she stumbled through the pc systems & calling 800#’s to assist her. Very disrespectful of people’s time. I saw rates go up unfairly to customers plus extra charges. Refused to hire “black people” ONLY hires Christians. In my interview she asked what my religion was, if I had children, That is ILLEGAL. She argues & preaches at customers if they admit not being Christian. She told one customer he deserved to die & go to hell b/c he is HIV+ & a homosexual. Would use God’s name and religious words to sell to Christians, who are gullible.
She didnt know how to do any computerized work (only 1 old school system, slowly) & refuses to learn. Staff assisted her.
Customers ONLY called the office manager & went in her office for problems. A lot of customers hung-up the phone w/ agent, she would call back telling them how rude they were. She argued w/ 1 customer about Life Insurance Laws. The customer used to sell Life Insurance & KNOWS the rules which the office manager advised the agent she was incorrect.
The reason customers DON’T cancel b/c they are loyal to the brand & in 1 yr 2 staff reported her to State Farm Corp, Labor Board, & the State Gen. Insurance Commissioner for fraud on lying on customers applications. What happened?”¦.nothing. My boss’s boss boss came, had a nice chat, ate lunch, called his wife on speaker & went on his merry way. He lied for her, no investigation whatsoever. He acted as a lawyer on behalf of her & StateFarm. That is why I wouldn’t waste my time reporting her. We had several staff process quotes, changes coverages all while NOT licensed. which is illegal.

Increase in rates is equal to claim
I’ve had State Farm for probably 40 years for car and home. So my son is on my policy and he had a very minor accident, at least according to the damage on his Honda Civic (almost nothing). The people he “tapped” grabbed his insurance card and drove off. Tried to claim physical injury because they “went to the doctor”, so State Farm paid them $300 to “go away”. They also somehow had $2000 in damages to their car, which State Farm paid without telling me. So now my rate is up $40 a month for 3 years! Really? When I went to complain they said “well, we had to pay for injuries”. State Farm is awful. They don’t care, they just increase your rates if god forbid you make a claim.

Cancelled due to someone else's driving record
I have multiple vehicles covered with State Farm for over 17 years. When adult daughter started driving I told her she needed her own auto insurance. Our agent told her that her policy separate” from ours would have no effect on our premiums. Last fall her policy was cancelled as a result of multiple claims. When I phoned to make changes to my policy I was informed that my policy was not going to be renewed. I was puzzled since my husband and I one claim 15 years ago and one claim 6 years (not at fault). I was informed that we were being dropped because of daughter’s driving record after being told repeatedly when they took her business that this would absolutely never happen. When asked about having her being specifically excluded from coverage on our policy was told that that wasn’t an option since there was no guarantee that she would never drive my car. Absolutely disgusted with the company as a result of this.

Filed claim, now they won't cover new home
After 37 years of having Homeowners Insurance, we filed our first claim ever after an oven fire. The fire was contained in the oven, but there was extensive smoke damage. This was one month ago and we were in the process of putting our home on the market for a relocation. State Farm response was wonderful – so easy and nice to work with, seemed understanding and happy to help us!
But, then the cleanup was complete and our home was listed for sale. We found a new home in a new state. We contacted State Farm to cover our new home. We were told they would not cover us due to the claim we just had. One claim in 37 years and they would not cover us anymore! As good as they were to us during the cleanup process, they are now rid of us and we are having difficulty finding coverage. Oh – and there was one comment to me (from the adjuster!) about our agent crying” over this claim!
At our age, having good credit ratings, never having missed payments for all these years, we are struggling to believe this is how insurance companies work. How greedy, callous and wrong of them! We haven’t always had State Farm and never will again.
I have never had good feeling or opinions about insurance companies. I’ve said more than once that insurance (of any kind) seemed to be a grand scale scam. I had almost changed my mind due to the good response and help we had during the cleanup process.
However, their decision that we are now too high risk to cover has just confirmed my long-time feelings and opinion. This is why people don’t like or trust this business.
We found coverage. I’m thankful for that. And I’m sure all insurance companies are the same, but – if you’re considering State Farm – think again!! They are NOT a good neighbor. They were there and now they’re not. Or – at least, don’t ever have an accident and file a claim.

unauthorized withdrawal of funds
i cancelled my insurance 3/23/2018, with their customer service as my agent wasn’t answering his phone. on 3/28/2018 they took another $409 out of my checking account after being told by customer service rep it would not happen. I was VERY clear that they were not to take any more money from my checking account and they assured me it would not be. As of 4/16/2018 i have still not been refunded what they took out of my checking account. Agent calls and just gets run around. i call customer service and just get the run around.
What an uncaring, terrible corporation to deal with. never, ever again.

bad experience
I went through Mindy Cooling State Farm customer service seems nice at first but is deceiving. When I needed to make a claim they sent me in circles and were more interested in selling life insurance that helping me with my claim. They also canceled my insurance without informing me about any issues.

INSURANCE HOLDERS BEWARE
State Farm Insurance policy holders BEWARE!!! I have been a policy holder with State Farm for 35 years. I currently have my home, RV and 3 vehicles insured through them Yesterday I was notified that they would not be renewing my home owners insurance as I have had 4 claims in the last 18 years… REALLY!!!!! I thought you paid insurance in case something ever happens… GUESS NOT WITH STATE FARM!! Well, I am now pulling ALL of my policies with State Farm as well as 10 of my family members… STATE FARM IS A JOKE!!! They are quick to take my money for 35 years!!!! I would give a -10 on star ratings if they had one!!!!!!!

36+ Years, No More
I have been with State Farm insurance since I started driving in 1982 and have not had a ticket in 25 years. My dissatisfaction started several years ago when I received a notice that State Farm is no longer offering homeowner insurance in Florida. I, of course, had to find another company to insure my home. A few months after obtaining new insurance I was informed that State Farm changed their mind and is continuing to offer homeowners insurance in Florida. When I tried to re-obtain homeowners insurance with them, they told me they were not taking new customers. In 2016 I backed out of my garage and into a guests car that I forgot was there and in 2017 my wife bumped the car in front of her at a stop light when it turned green, not even hard enough to scratch her white bumper. Now State Farm is canceling us under their Mutual company but they graciously offered to insure us for the low price of $5200 per year, three times our previous rate. Unfortunately, I have been a loyal customer over the years even when cheaper rates were out there and I have used them for previous and current auto loans. I will never recommend them again and will be moving my loans to another company. Like a bad neighbor, State Farm will turn on you in a second or run away when you need them.

Horrible company
Been fighting a totaled snowmobile claim for 13 months. Claims reps lie, won’t allow certain comps for value and use others that are not valid. Anything to cheat you out of money. Run don’t walk from Satan Farm. 35 yr customer with a couple small claims Just cancelled every policy I had with them.

Terrible Claims Handling
State Farm is the absolute WORST vehicle insurance company I have ever dealt with. We were hit by a State farm insured driver. They failed to yield right away and were driving too fast for conditions. (Cited for both infractions). M.C.A. § 61-8-339(1) says that “[w]hen two or more vehicles enter or approach an intersection from different highways, the driver of the vehicle on the left shall yield the right-of-way to all vehicles approaching from the right that are close enough to constitute an immediate hazard. State Farm is saying their driver is 80% at fault. Nowhere in the law does it say 80%. Our truck was hit in the drivers rear box side. The first interaction with a adjuster we were told their insured had her tickets dismissed in court so that is why they are stating the 80%. I call down to get a copy of the Police report and was told that she hasn’t even appeared yet. Then 3 weeks go by without a word from anybody at State Farm. I called 3 days ago to speak to manager. Finally hear back today and they are standing with their 80% claim. We have no option other than filing a lawsuit against State Farm. I can’t believe they get away with their claims handling this way.

Tammy White and State Farm Are Crooks
I’ve been a loyal State Farm customer for 15 years, having two separate home owners policy with Tammy White. Never once did I receive a phone call asking about changes in needs in those 15 years. Then, when I needed my agent to help navigate the claims process, first claim in 15 years, she doesn’t return phone calls and is absolutely no help and definitely isn’t an advocate for her customer. She did happily collect my premiums for 15 years though. I will yank all of my policies from Tammy and probably the 8 other policies I have with State Farm because of this.

Fraud is Standard Operating Procedure
After being insured with State Farm Auto for forty years, my daughter totaled her car. The claim process was extremely slow and painful but we eventually got full coverage.
This is where the problems began. I asked to have my daughter removed from our insurance because she no longer lived with us. Both the agent and State Farm corporate refused for several weeks to comply. We also asked to cancel the policy on the totaled vehicle because it would not be replaced. The agent said he would comply. Six months later we received Insurance Cards for the totaled vehicle and discovered that we had been paying premiums for the totaled car for six months. When asked why the agent had failed to cancel the policy he indicated that it was standard operating procedure.
How many thousands of people are unknowingly paying State Farm premiums to insure cars that are no longer on the road? This is fraud as far as we are concerned. But it is standard operating procedure with State Farm agents. Policies covering totaled vehicles should not be continued after settlement without an explicit request in writing from the insured.
We have yet to see any refund of the premiums collected in this fraud and fully expect that State Farm will find a way to keep most of those premiums.

Auto (95%), Home (50%)
I’m 30+ yr member of State Farm Mutual. I’ve never had an Auto claims problem. My agent and his office has been exceptional.
However, since filing my first home claim roof then foundation claim, I feel that I’ve been jacked/screwed and every other adjective. St. Farm obviously hates paying out on home claims and have become money hungry and pays NO mind to its loyal customers. My adjuster made us feel like I was putting State Farm out by asking them to pay on my claim.
My foundation claim was closed even though I specifically asked them not to close it.
Because of State Farm neglect to listen to the home owner, my home’s foundation is worse to the point that the trust in the attic has come completely loose.
I’ve been praying that a lawyer doesn’t have to get involved but I refuse to allow someone to take advantage of me without fighting back.
This is not the State Farm that I first began with. Before It was like a Good neighbor”. Not now. Not in the homeowners claims arena.

Screwed by State Farm.... Loyal 14yr customer
Got a letter today that my automobile coverage is not going to be renewed…. Letter started by thanking me for being a loyal customer!!!! That stated the reason was my driving record…. I have 0 point on my license! I have had 5 claims in last 6 years, two were comprehensive claims, both Deer hits ( not my fault…. Can’t control deer! 3 classified as Accidents, first… Road construction 2 lanes down to 1, night time, ran over something that got kicked up by the tire that does damage to the car…. Second accident claim, transmission went out in my Jeep, was forced to drive my new 2016 car…. Winter time in North Dakota…. Was taking a turn at 10mph, car didn’t turn, ice… Slid into curb gashed the hell out of my rims…. Third Accident was in a parking lot, was backing up…. Kid comes flying around into the lane…. Bam we hit… No fault… No damage other than a little scratch no payout on this either…. Now once current policies are done they aren’t going to renew… Again 14 years with State Farm, 5 vehicles and my homeowner’s covered…. They’re not dropping my homeowner’s, but bet your @$$ I am!!! I will never spend any money with this company ever!!!!!!!!!!!!! Screw you State Farm!!!!

State Farm should be charged for fraud
I just recently had a accident and SF is refusing to pay for all the damages incurred in the accident claiming that the damages were not a result of the accident. Customer service representatives are rude and unprofessional. SF has stated that I need to file another claim if I want all the damages paid for, but I am refusing to do so because they are trying to get me to pay another deductible.
I think this company should be stopped. Anyone that is paying premiums to SF thinking that when they file a claim they will be fully compensated in terms of their damages, please think again.
This company is guilty of fraud on so many levels.
I am going back to Geico.

Dropped me and not paying claims
I had a small parking lot incident June 2016 ($630) and another October 2017 ($1300) After being a customer for 5 years they are dropping me b/c I was deemed at fault in both. BUT 60 days after the last claim they still haven’t paid it out and I can’t even pick up new insurance! #SCREWSTATEFARM

Lying by omission.
I was rear ended by a State Farm customer and had to deal with them regarding my claim which I will state they accepted liability for…(not much choice to be honest as she drove into the back of me and got cited for it).
They agreed to a car rental for 5 days but DID NOT tell me it started immediately….so I waited a couple of days then picked up the car so they actually only paid for 3 days.
I called them and though they agreed it was badly communicated they still wouldn’t fix an admitted problem on their part.
I call it lying by omission.
So, I’ll never be a State Farm customer and that’s why they get a bad review…they tell lies, they admit they did it but don’t care. Why would I want to give them my custom?

Employee of 25+ years - Don't Buy
I was an employee with over 25+ years. I left State Farm last year as I was disgusted with the changes they were making in a negative way. The new CEO is ruining this company. The company no longer apreciates their employees (that is senior employees are retiring sooner than later and younger ones stay less than 5 years which leads to inexperience and poor customer service) plus SF does not appreciate their long time customers any longer. I have seen and been involved in these changes and they are not getting any better folks. Just be aware when you have a claim – will likely not be handled promptly and fairly. BY THE WAY I WAS A CLAIM ADJUSTER MY ENTIRE CAREER WITH STATE FARM. CEO Michael Tipsord needs to be replaced – he is the one destroying this company!!!

Horrible claims process
The vinyl siding on the house had been damaged on one side by hail. They would only pay for the one side even though a piece of the old siding had been found in the garage and when held up to the installed siding, it was grossly different. Their process is that you have to INSTALL THE ONE SIDE, TAKE PICTURES, AND THEN THEY WILL SEE IF THEY MIGHT DO SOMETHING ELSE!! Wow, this is so STUPID! You can see the difference without installing the new product. Horrible insurance company!!

Auto accident, other Insurance Liable
I was hit while stopped at a red light by a lady Insured by American Family. Her Insurance company accepted full liability for the accident after investigation. State Farm was paying my medical bills. All was fine. Then when I need further physical therapy 1 yr later(still insured up to 3 yrs from accident) they have not paid anyting! I have been sent to collections so I paid all out of pocket. 6 months later, still trying to determine if they will pay. I have had no other accidents (they requested and saw that from all my personal medical records). They are trying to find a reason not to pay…Why?? American Family is reimbursing them 100%. We are now looking for a new Insurance company for our 3 autos, home, rv and life. We are very disappointed. I have called and kept detailed records, spoken with Supervisors and told it will be resolved soon. Yet they keep finding an excuse. WE ARE DONE! GOOD BYE LOOSER State Farm!

Two claims and neither was properly handled
My husband and I have had State Farm for over 6 years, when we bought our home in 2010. We have two cars insurance, one with liability and one with full coverage. Daughter had a wreck in the newer car in June and they gave us a quote to fix the vehicle with Used (possibly from a junk yard)” parts. That’s how it’s stated on our claim. They handed us 2,000.00 for that one when the actual cost of repairs to the car was going to be 4500.00 (cheapest of three quotes by auto body shops that are known to be reliable). The adjuster’s itemization of the repair costs did NOT including repairing the INSIDE of the door that was crushed, ONLY the panel on the outside of the door. Needless to say, I didn’t consider that safe, so we ended up up-side-down on a new loan to make sure our kids were riding in a vehicle that was actually safe instead of a “cheaper but dangerous makeover. The home owners claim is still in progress as I type this BUT, its looking to end up the same way as the car. Personal property damaged/lost totaled around 7,500… state farm is giving us 490.00 to try and replace the stuff with a cap of 954.00 AFTER receipt reimbursement. We have 100k in personal property protection. This will more than likely end up in court. Please protect yourselves and your families and find another insurance company. I have NO IDEA how they have an A+ rating on this site with all of the negative reviews.

Homeowner's, Renter's, Two automobiles
I had my first accident for which I was not at fault at 64 years of age. The agent who ran the office, Jamie Smith, would only say there’s no need to come by and talk to us and bless your heart” everyday when I called for help with how to proceed. I was pretty severely injured; never had them check on me once. Luckily, the person causing the accident had good insurance with Farmer’s. Also, when my husband and I separated and I got renter’s insurance, Jamie and her agency had my name removed even though I am a named insured and part owner of the home, from the homeowner’s insurance. So I found out, and called today to cancel renters and have my name put back on the house and they wouldn’t take my word for it. They have to have my husband call for me, to put my name back on the homeowner’s, even though we never divorced. Crooked and sleazy agency. I don’t know about the rest of the company, but Jamie Smith is in her own little insurance world. She seems to give my husband exceptional service while ignoring my needs. Go figure?

It was my First car Insurance in USA. State Farm charged me more than twice of the premium amount than car insurance quoting. I came to know that after few months. Their customer care service is the worst in any aspect. At the time of urgency none of their agent will cooperate. In fact even after asking for closure of the insurance they have kept continuing their automatic payment and deducting amount from my source account. Even their agent were neither replying in email nor voice calls to return back my own money.
I have raised a complaint with insurance department of California, there after they have started returning extra money they have deducted.
It felt like heinous money stealing insurance agency is state farm.

Ken Phelps State Farm
The lying from the agents was the most unbearable part of the whole ordeal. The mechanic told us if there was an electrical issue due to the water damage, it would be very difficult to track it down and it could be potentially very dangerous since electrical issues can spread. Well, the door that wouldnt lock, doors opening/closing at random weren’t of concern to State Farm. Had a brand new crate motor not been required to fix the shaking issues, we would’ve been stuck with those issues!
So nearly 4 months later and a 3rd insurance payment on this van is auto drafted. They’re not at all responsible for the $240 worth of courtesy pay fees that follow that unauthorized amount of money they took, either. Oh and the biggest kicker: its going to take 14 business days to get my acct right at state farm alone. In the meantime, i have a new handler at state farm who is telling me that they dont pay overdrafts, theyre not responsible for having not removed the vehicle they totaled out and this will continue this way. Ummmm… no. You knew the van needed to be removed bc through the whole process, Ken Phelps, himself, was involved. I told him and every agent between that this van needed to be totaled after my mechanic told me about the electrical issue. My claims agent said she took care of every detail pertaining to my van and basic customer service needs weren’t met once again. Ken Phelps State Farm, you owe me 3 months of insurance payments, a ton of invonvenience pay (and tons more because apparently, this isn’t at all how this is supposed to work, we don’t know why its taking so long,” and my personal favorite, “we want to restore faith with you.”) during all of those handling me periods, and you owe me 2 vehicle payments I had to make to keep them from hitting our credit while you dragged your feet for 3 months! That’s 2 payments I had to make while not being able to use my vehicle!”

Dog bites are covered
Once you use it you will be not be allowed to renew for the next year. Why say your covered in the event an accident happens with your pet? The end result will be that you are not allowed to renew. This was my first claim every filed in the 10 plus years I have been with them. Edward in Selma CA

Unbelievably BAD!
No wonder State Farm is ranked the third worst (19th) of the 21 insurance companies reviewed! This does not pertain to a claim (of which there is none), but pertains to an agent who gave false information regarding replacing my old car with a new 2017 car purchased from a dealership. He stated gets his FALSE info regarding Georgia state law and State Farm corporate policy from some anonymous person who allegedly answered the phone at the county tag office!!! BAD!!! Changing all 4 lines of insurance that I have had with State Farm for 5 years to another company ASAP!

I would highly recommend finding insurance else where. When I became insured through statefarm, the cost of insuring my motohome seemed great! Less than 200 a year. Until they called me to let me know they missed” a policy. How do you miss a policy you jack asses?? Especially if it’s one that can’t be bypassed in the system? Anyways, they called me and let me know that the insurance price would raise to 97 a month. Still not all the bad.. until I called to double check that and they once against MISSED calculated & the price now became 230 a month. FOR A MOTORHOME. They needed to make it my primary vehicle even though I do not drive it anywhere, I would either A) need to insure another vehicle with them to make my motor home insurance go down or B) find someone else. Which is what I’m going to do. I would highly recommend not doing business with these lying, greedy thieves. “

I Love State Farm!
I Have been with State Farm since 2006. I have never had an issue with them. Although, premiums seem to increase little by little but I would rather pay more for a solid company then be sorry because I tried to save a few bucks! You never know what you are going to get and Insurance is something I am not willing to gamble with. If your looking for a great company willing to take care you, State Farm is by far the best choice!

3 car Penalty, Really???
Have had Home with SF for over 20 years, also have vehicles, RV’s, Umbrella, golfcart. Have had multiple cars insured in the past, but after having two insured for several years, we purchased another one which had been my parents and insured with SF in the past. Was paying $160/month for full coverage on an ’08 Ford Limited PU and a’16 Ford Explorer. But adding the 2010 Lincoln was going to cost an Extra $144 per month !! Seems strange, right ? Well, the unbelievable explanation is that since we already own two vehicles and there are only two drivers in our home, that 3rd vehicle is rated at a higher rate. In other words we are being penalized for having 3 vehicles and only two drivers!! Being seniors, with no tickets, accidents etc for years and years (and really, I believe only one claim for when we were broadsided by a DEER years ago), we cannot afford the insurance on the 3rd vechicle and are being forced to sell it !!
Also, after being with the same agent for over 20 years, SF switched out agent !!!
And the new” billing format is the most deceptive method I have ever seen (and I worked for State Farm for years). You cannot find the total for each vehicle individually because of the format and the same applies to the homeowner billing. State Farm has deteriorated significantly over the years and have become what I now consider 3rd rate. We qualify for USAA and will be transferring all coverage this year. The only good thing about State Farm now is a claims adjuster named Becky Lanier. If it were not for her, our claim in 2005 would have been devastating. Her help in handling our claim meant the world to us. I hope she is in charge of claims dept after all this time. She deserves it. She deserves 5 stars !!”

Worst agents
I got a very pathetic service from this Agent. I worked with Drew(works for Agent Stephen Cole) and they told me the auto insurance amount as 130 per month. i paid the amount and got my cards. after 10 days they called again and telling me that i have to pay 40$ more.. When i asked for a reason they said they did some mistake. Now i have to pay more for some mistake they did. its very a rude response from them when i asked to extend at least for a month which they agree.
I am not expecting this kind of response from a big company like this… this is very bad to ask customer to pay for the mistake they made.

Not what it used to be
I have been a customer of State Farm for my auto and Homeowners for over 30 years. My agent has been wonderful sometimes helping me reduce premiums with recommended suggestions. In the past I have noticed a change in customer service when dealing with reporting claims on my autos which were minor accidents such as getting nonchargeable dings and dents while my car was parked. I have not had a chargeable accident ever and recently they raised my premium significantly for no reason. I called the main office and they were useless in helping explain what happened to me and referred me back to my local agent. She told me that State Farm has cut back on employees at the main office and sends customers back to their local agent. She stated that she could not answer my questions about my increase and seemed irritated about the way State Farm is handling customer complaints lately. I no longer feel that they appreciate my business and like most of the service industries especially insurance companies they just do not care anymore about customer loyalty and satisfaction. Reviews on other insurance companies all seem the same. They make lots of money and really do not give a damn about customers.

Terrible Customer Service
Do NOT get state farm insurance. My drunk neighbor hit my parked car in the driveway behind my house and state farm is refusing to pay for any damage. Not only was my car damaged but my garage door as well. The drunk driver claimed he didn’t cause the damage and I have the police report and 2 witnesses. The company is trying to get over on me. Do not waste your time. The customer service staff is horrible and never nasty! Now I have to fight this claim and get a lawyer or sue my neighbor.

Do not buy State Farm Insurance through the Vienna, VA office at 374 Maple Avenue E, Agent Andy Pyo. Worst office I have ever dealt with in any business! These guys are incompetent and shameless. They flat out lied to me on several occasions – told me they faxed paperwork to the DMV and I waited all day at the DMV, called them back the next day, and they say they don’t do the type of assistance I asked for, despite the fact they literally told me they had already done it! Treated my wife like garbage too. Avoid!

On Feb. 21 I requested a quote from different insurance companies for a new car. After providing my information they provided a quote of $186/month in both verbal and written form and to begin they charge my card with that amount for first month. Just to be sure I didn’t cancel my insurance at the time right away.
After a week I still did not get my insurance cards and so I inquired and they said it is in review and should be done shortly. After another week I called the agent again and they told me everything is fine and provided me with the insurance cards. They mentioned I can now go ahead and cancel my old insurance which I did. On March 15, 3.5 weeks later and right after they knew I cancelled my other insurance, I received a letter with a new policy document with a premium of almost DOUBLE what was quoted @ 333/month.
I inquired about the reason and after some run around they made a excuse that I did not disclose one accident from 2014 and gave me an option to lower my coverage. I did enclose all my accidents and they had plenty of time to run a DMV report and figure that out before I cancelled my old insurance. This is a classic case of bait and switch leaving me with a large bill knowing full well I had cancelled my other insurance. They got me right where wanted me to be.

High and dry
have been a State Farm customer for over 10 years. I have had 1 accident this past Nov. and 1 speeding ticket within the last year. Wednesday night, someone left a huge truck tire in the middle of the road and I hit it causing 2700 in damages. I just received a call from state Farm asking me if everything was going smoothly with the claim. After softening me up she then tells me that because of my ONE accident in over 10 years and my ONE ticket they can no longer cover me. Are you kidding? So because you had to pay a claim instead of just getting paid you dismiss long term customer effective 3/26. Unreal. just wanted to put the warning out there…. Like a good Neighbor, state Farm is NOT there.

AWFUL-DISHONEST
I chose State Farm based on initial conversation with agent (who is no longer there) many issues with trying to insure my boat, ultimately switched boat to Geico. After many months of confusing billing inconsistencies and unable to get a straight answer from Chris Burns State Farm agency in Magnolia, TX I chose to cancel my auto policy. I cancelled formally in writing however once again more issues, the next premium was deducted from my bank and I keep getting bills. I was told it was told guaranteed my policies have been cancelled” clearly that was not true. They were surprised then said the cancellation will not be done until this Friday-almost 20 days later. This is outrageous, now the game is going to begin with the amount. This is the worst office to deal with, State Farm may be a good Insurance carrier however after dealing with this office I will NEVER trust anything from State Farm.

Was Dropped
I was with state farm for 27 years and after having one accident they would not renew my policy. Additionally, they informed the licensing bureau I had no insurance when they knew I had obtained another policy. This resulting in my license being suspended until I physically went to the license bureau and proved I had insurance. If you ever have to make s claim with them be prepared to be dropped.

Illegal Claim Opened
I called into my local office to ask a simple question: “Do u offer accident forgiveness? A lady answered the phone & told me that she would have to “transfer my call to someone who could assist me.” Another agent was on the line & again, I asked the same question. She proceeded to ask me questions & said that she needed to get some more information from me. She asked. “What happened?” So I proceeded to answer her questions. I told her there was no paperwork needed. She tried to get me to have an Insurance evaluator come out to access any damages & suggested they could possibly “cut me a check for the damages.” I told her again, “No, there was no need for paperwork, please answer my question.” She told me that she needed more information and at the end of the conversation said: “Here is your case number” I found out later that she illegally opened an Insurance Claim in my name for my car causing my insurance rates to be higher. My local State Farm Office, Janine Tillman of PSL, FL, pushed me off to the claims department where they forced a claim upon me without my knowledge. They are deceitful, manipulative, and liars! A “Claims Representative called & argued with me that it was opened and it will not be erased from my record. When I requested to speak with a manager THREE times he denied & told me that he was NOT getting a supervisor. A supervisor, Brittney, called & left me a voicemail message admitting that she could “see in the notes that I did not intend to have a claim opened but unfortunately one was opened and it could not be erased.” Their employees are deceitful & had no right to open a claim! DO NOT open any insurance accounts with STATE FARM INSURANCE. They are more than anxious to meet their quotas & illegally open claims. STATE FARM are liars & deceitful in all departments! They basically “don’t care”. PLEASE SEEK ANOTHER INSURANCE AGENT THAN STATE FARM”

Don't expect State Farm to be there for you!
After years as a loyal customers going back 3 & 4 Generations (60 plus yrs.). Our parents, siblings, children even my wife’s grand farther was a State Farm agent years back, all were loyal customers, but the company has changed for the worse, don’t expect any Loyalty from State Farm today, I have totally lost any trust in them that I once had. After informing our family about our latest disaster with State Farm, we all are looking for other insurance companies to change to.
We had noticed water damage inside our home where the roof was leaking, The adjuster had inspected our roof and the water damage, he said it had appeared we had wind damage and some hail damage, but was not sever enough, part of the roof leaks came from vent pipe cover gaskets which is considered mechanical and the rooted roof decking from bad singles were not covered by insurance. State Farm recommended to do patch work and place temporary vent. We had several roofers come out and give estimates, all said the roof was totaled. Certified inspector come out and he said it was totaled, so we had State Farm adjuster (which turned out to be the adjuster) come back out to inspect with the certified inspector but you could tell he had his mind made up before even arrived. My State Farm rep. he recommend another certified inspector, which he too said the roof was totaled, I told the State Farm adjusters I was considering changing insurance companies, they said I shouldn’t do that for other insurance companies probably would not cover the house due to the condition of the roof. That I should just hang tight for there probably be another hail storm in the next year or two and at that time State Farm would probably cover then. Well we decided to go ahead and do the job right by replace roof completely and pay it out of our pocket after looking at cost/deductible/inconvenience and possible other damage that could occur if it were to leak somewhere else

Takes money after cancelation
My policy was canceled on 1/7/2017 because of the high rates and lack of communication. An escrow check was sent out by my insurance company on 1/11 and processed by State Farm on 1/24, that’s right, 17 days after my policy was canceled, they took a check and deposited into my account. Since the agency has been unreliable on straightening this out, I reached out to the call center. I was told that this is the correct process, which was to cash a check on the policy even if it has been canceled, then getting the money back. They said sometimes it takes the underwriting department some time to get the cancelation, but we are talking 17 days here. Since they processed it I have been calling to get my money back. This is not a few hundred dollars, it is over $1,000. Each time I call I get the same ol’ song and dance, the refund is in progress”, “we are working on it right now” and so on. When I ask to speak with a manager at the call center, they say that the only have customer service specialists available as the managers are only to train the employees. I have never heard such garbage. In my world, if you do something incorrectly, there is a manager who will try to make it right, and talk to the customer if need be. This company just leaves you in the hands of the reps who say they will file an official complaint which goes right into the revolving file (garbage). Please save yourself some money and the heartache of having them mess up and then giving you the runaround when calling for them to make it right.

State Farm Threatens to Sue Me Over Review
Mark Rossmiller State Farm Agency owner has threatened to pursue legal action against me for this honest review I posted online about the poor service his office gave me.
Getting an insurance quote from this place is harder than pulling teeth from an alligator, without anesthesia. The Mark Rossmiller State Farm Agency was referred to me via my Indiana State Farm agent, who always provided excellent and quick service to me.
So I thought all would go smooth and easy transitioning to this State Farm agency. Unfortunately, the opposite was true here. This agency would make Rube Goldberg proud in the complexity of how it takes getting a simple insurance quote into a several month ordeal.
I requested quotes from Debbie C starting back around Sept 6, 2016 via email.
Also, wanting to compare rates, I requested quotes from other Insurance carriers in the area too. I requested insurance quotes on several real estate properties and multiple vehicles.
The quotes either came very, very slow or not at all.
Some quotes came so slow, that by the time I received a reply, I already had quotes from several other agencies in hand, and purchased insurance and moved on to my next project. Some quotes did not come at all, and when I later questioned Debbie why she did not follow up as promised, she said she thought if I needed immediate assistance I would just call the office.
Maybe in the 1990’s I would have done it all via phone calls or even in person, and not have minded it taking a few weeks to get an insurance quote. But in fairness I am a high tech guy and prefer to do things the modern economical time saving way, such as utilizing email and Internet website, many of which offer instant quotes without even talking to a live person.
I try to avoid lengthy intrusive phone calls and playing phone tag, ha.

Very Dissatisfied
Going on 2nd year wanted to add another vehicle on to my policy, was told could not unless i make a down payment , so i was like okay ill shop.around then . Next month vehicle is automatically added on, my payments are drafted out if my account, so i called to find out why it was added when i was told it couldn’t be unless i made the down payment, lady couldn’t tell me why, i told her i wantef it removed and do not want the extra charge drafted out if my account cause i was told it couldn’t be done then all of sudden its done. She assured me it would be removed and extra payment would not come out. Then what do you know my bank account was still drafted with the extra charge and i also had the overdraft fee cause the hole amount wasnt there. Third phone call my issue still isnt resolved im beyond fed up with this company and will be moving on for sure never doing business again with State Farm out of Wichita Falls Tx

Denied insurability for new home
Due to small claims that were paid for another home for wind damage from a hurricane (7 counties around us were declared federal disaster areas by FEMA). Would never again consider using this company. Was also switching auto, now they lose on all. I would give 0 stars if I could.

After 8 years I'm leaving
I have been with State Farm for 8+ years now and I’m getting out. They have consistently raised their rates for no reason and they have consistently been going down the tubes in terms of customer service. The local agents are useless. The claims service is ok, but Progressive and Geico are 10 times better….for less money. So disappointed in State Farm. Goodbye!!

Do not get statefarm
Long story short when I moved my personal property was stolen and some was damaged. State Farm has no problem taking your money but will make excuses for not covering your property. I was told by statefarm that they weren’t covering my things because “they weren’t stolen they’re just being kept from me”. They also said they’ll be switching my coverage for my car to a policy that doesn’t have towing because I used towing too much. If you think about it I payed for my own towing because I pay State Farm every month whether I get into a accident or not.

When Both Parties Have State Farm - You will LOSE!
We have had State Farm for 45 Years and have never had a serious auto accident. We just had one and the other driver was clearly at fault as evidenced by the citation written to the other driver. The Adjuster did not do their job (Dianne Minnich) and now MY insurance company is not representing me – what ever you do – DON’T GO WITH STATE FARM!!!!

NO CARE FOR CUSTOMERS
I got state farm renters insurance. After 1 month passed i called them regarding paying my bill and i was about to ask about my bill and she told me that you cannot have more than 2 people on one policy that i was never told about when i applied for this and was never called and no letter sent. They waited for me to call so that they could tell me that its not possible for me to keep that policy. How ridiculous. Never gonna get any policy for them again in my life again and will recommend same to all my family and friend. Liers and irresponsible.

not a good company to trust
I have had insurance with S/F for 44 years and had 2 clams in the past 2 years of less then $4,000.00 because of some fool breaking into my house and they cancel me. Over the years I paid them over 40,000.00 dollars. I think they are not a reliable company to be with.

I had a auto accident reported it the agent claims they have to pick up car to be reviewed vs just come out to my home. ever agent had a rude attitude regardless who I spoke to. they claim car a loss I advised them I still will keep the car, no problem we will tow to what ever garage i like .. they towed to a salvage yard it has been hell dealing with staefarm not a good neighbor its a nightmare .. no one has a manger or supervisor to help and my agent also zero help do not use!! “

Not a "Good Neighbor"
I have been a loyal State Farm Customer for 20+ Years, with policies for my home, life (child and mom), hospitalization and multiple automobile policies with them over the years and today I received a letter stating that my automobile policies will not be renewed. State farm lists my one auto insurance claim (2016), 3 towing claims (2014 & 2015) and my sister’s accident (2016) where my sister was the victim in a horrific hit and run claim (my sister is also insured through State Farm under a totally separate and unrelated policy of her own because of my recommendation) as factors in their decision to cancel my policy. I am pissed! I am able to obtain new policies for 5 of 6 of the policies I currently have with State Farm and will be switching immediately, and encourage anyone whom I might have referred to State Farm to do the same! Not a good neighbor!

Refused to pay bill for flood damage to my home.
State Farm is a horribly greedy and uncaring company. Many homes in atlanta flooded 3 years ago including mine. I called state farm as they were my insurance company for both auto and homeowners. They called a water restoration company to come to my place. The water restoration company didnt do much yet sent me an $800 bill which I sent to state farm. State farm refused to pay this bill. I am now being sued by the water restoration company 3 years later while I am undergoing treatment for ovarian cancer and have no income. State farm still refuses to pay this bill. They claim I should have paid it from the small damage claim check they gave me to repair my home but I never called this water restoration company to come out here – state farm did. They dont care about their customers. They care only about greed and I find them a dishonest and incompetent corporation. Am going to take this story to the local media.

The customer service is awful .
I have had state-farm for a little over 5 years . Ive never had an accident or any kind of claim until this September . My car was a total loss and they have not been helpful or time conscious . They didn’t provide a rental car ( agent stated it was not automatically included with FULL COVERAGE unless specifically requested ) I am still waiting for the payoff check which they wont send until documents are received from the lien holder but they wont even send to request to my lien holder !!! I am beyond frustrated and way passed ready to change companies .

No Respect for Customers
I was with StateFarm from 2 years and never field any claim but they still increased my premium. When I called Agent Argel Flores(Lic: TX-1655142)” , he was rude and reason he said was: since gas prices are low other customers used their cars more and field many claims(stupid reason. thinking customers are fools). “Argel Flores” was very rude and asked me to either take renter’s insurance to get discount or move out to other insurance company.
Argel Flores said he is the boss so I just have listen to him(Renters insurance sale) but not ask any question. “

Changed my deductible without my consent
Always had state farm. Hit hard by 100+mph winds that blew off shingles and broke many shingle seals on the rest. Adjustor claimed broken seals were not covered. They are being sued in Texas for similar practices. Furthermore, discovered that State Farm had unilaterally increased the deductible I had specified, without obtaining my consent.

I have this insurance for years, then we moved to Miami. I asked more than one time for moving the policy and wait more than 2 weeks for the answer, plus I called them first. It sound like they don’t need my business. I requested cancellation, they canceled my policy, but they rewrite my husband policy without asking. Now we see a bill triple a month payment and cancellation notice because of no-payment rather request cancellation.

Leaving State Farm after 27 years
After 5 years with another agent in PA I came back to Rick Sanchez, previous agent, and numerous errors have resulted in by weekly letters from headquarters. My pmt plan since 89 was closed in error, although I have declarations page with uninsured motorist, Winter Heaven does not show it.

transferred to new Agent
3 years ago my agent for the last 25 years was ill and no longer want to sell insurance. State Farm transferred my entire family of 7 of us to another State Farm agent. As soon as my next renewal time come, insurance for the entire family went up by $200 to $300 per person. we called and asked why and the agent just say Oh, this year we have an higher than average claims and so everyone pays a higher premium.” “Stick around and next year it should be cheaper for everyone”. Next renewal time comes and, it went up again and not only that but this new agent and his office constantly called us to sell other insurance products. To make a long story short, our car insurance went from $2500 from every 6 month to $4700. I switched my entire family to AAA and our premium came down to $1850 every 6 month and going down each time we renew. I am glad we made the switch and will never go back to state farm again.

A bad neighbor getting worse
I have only ever had insurance with SF and I am 41 years old. I have 10 policies with my agent. In recent years my agent has become less and less of an asset. Everything not related to taking payments or apps must go thru an 800 number or the website. The service has become so impersonal and difficult it is not worth the extra premium costs I have grown used to. It is very sad b/c I still consider my agent a friend and mentor. If I am going to get .com/800 number service I would rather pay for it. This is not the State Farm I know.

Awesome Customer Service!
I caused an accident in Moline, IL, and our State Farm agent, Rick Meyer in Monticello, IA handled everything quickly, professionally and had a great attitude throughout the entire process. He took the time to meet with me and speak with me on the phone whenever necessary, and he handled everything very efficiently. The process was pain free. I cannot say enough great things about Rick. The best part of his customer service came when I was issued a bill for $455 by the City of Moline for the squad car, ambulance, and fire truck that were sent to the scene of the accident even though no one needed these services. Rick said we were covered, even though this obscure bill was not directly written into our policy. I highly recommend looking into hiring him as your agent!

SUCKS
I filed a claim against your company due to a accident that totaled my vehicle on July 5th 2016. 1 month later I had to call and see why/what/ where/ who was going resolve this claim. I got some help that night and felt a little bit better on this process. Here we are 2 months out, still not settled and getting the run around again. rental had to be returned last week. SO I was left with no vehicle to drive while this claim still is not resolved. BAD BAD customer service. I called tonight Sept 2 2016 to get answers. A check was to be overnighted last night. Guess what? NO CHECK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I refused to be given excuses again. DONE with excuses. I apologized to the young lady who tried to help me, and did her best to tell me the process yet to be fulfilled on your end. I DONT CARE about what you need to do. You have had 2 months to settle this. I asked to speak to a manager, Waited and was transferred to Courtney, who stated she would do a electronic claims deposit into my account,I wait 30 mins and this transaction had not happened. IF, I waited 2 months to pay my premium you would have cancelled my policy. TG ,I DO NOT USE YOU for my insurance. It is your obligation to settle claims in a timely manner, contact the claimant and keep them abreast of the claims process. YOU FAILED EPIC-ALLY. For a accident that was not my fault, I have had many major inconveniences to deal with, that was unnecessary on your part. It only gets better NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want this resolved and I would expect to have compensation for the stress,aggravation in having to deal with what should have been a simple claim to a nightmare on elm street

They overcharged me and now won't credit me back
I have been with State Farm for 12 years. I’ve had one accident during that whole time. I made some changes to my policy a little over a year ago and when I added a new car was told I only qualified for the high risk policy. I tried to fight it but had to had insurance…it’s the law! So, six months later I call trying to get them to review to reduce my cost only to discover that the reason I was on the high risk policy was not what they told me originally. And the reason I was on it was not valid. It took me six months to finally get someone to realize they made a mistake and I was told it would take a bit but they’d get me a credit for the difference in the year I overpaid. I waited three months and now am being told they can only go back 30 days. How a company can overcharge you for a year and then tell you they aren’t going to fix THEIR mistake is absolutely ridiculous!

Impossible to switch policies between agents
I have spent two months trying to get the last of a policy transferred from one State Farm agent to another. The agents are brilliant at talking you in circles so they will not lose business. I don’t understand why everyone that answered the phone was nice but was not able to actually do anything productive for me or my policy. I will never use State Farm again!

I just had a very disturbing conversation with one of your agents at approx. 9:45am this morning. Over the past 2 weeks I have left Tammi Swearigen (ext 9726571645) multiple messages for a phone call back regarding a claim filed for my property. After finally reaching Tammi on the phone today, she was extremely rude when I asked if she had received my messages and responded I dont work for you”!! I was dumbfounded by the “customer service” I experienced today. Statefarm just lost a customer. Being in the apartment housing industry, I have many opportunities to refer residents and future home owners to Statefarm, but as of today, I will no longer send any prospective customers to a company that has such awful service.

State farm is nothing but liars
Statefarm is nothing but a bunch of liars. My shed was wrongfully repossessed which the rental company caused $10,000 of property damage, and stole my property. Statefarm did pay for the damage but my problem is, they said they don’t have enough evidence to go after the other parties insurance. Well duh THEY PAID THE CLAIM. What more evidence do they need to have. All insurance companies work together to cause us mass suffering and to screw us over. Why bother to switch insurance companies. They all treat you the same.

rate increase
Just got my August bill and instead of my insurance going down it went up. Keep in mind that nothing has changed regarding my policy, no accidents, etc., So of course I called them and was told the rate increased because my vehicle was older and parts may be harder to find. What does that have to do with insurance being it doesn’t pay for the parts if I have a break down? ? The lady I spoke to was extremely rude. I will change companies as soon as possible for that reason alone.

Id rather spend 10 years in a korean work camp
I recently moved from Arizona to Kansas. I informed the office in Arizona that I would not be returning, and I was told that an agent in Salina would contact me to conduct a policy transfer. Three months after I moved, I heard nothing. Called up five different agents, got a callback from one. Called this agent back, always got voicemail, and have yet to get a callback from an agent in Kansas. I guess these horse-humping hayseeds are too dim to understand how to dial a phone. I had heard that Kansans were retards, but thought that to be a nasty slight. The state farm agents in Kansas, and their blatant refusal to return a customer contact, proves that aforementioned comment to be true. My message to the Kansas state farm agents would be to stop fornicating with farm animals, pick up the phone, and do what you are paid for. Being an agent isn’t exactly difficult.

Senior Citizens Beware
My elderly disabled parents have been with State Farm for more than fifty years with very few claims. They recently filed a claim to have their roof replaced. They had filed a claim following Katrina and received roughly half the replacement cost and had the worse of the damage replaced. Now the roof must be replaced for $14,000., more than twice the previously awarded cost, and State Farm refuses to pay any of it. This is certainly no way to treat an 88 year old, 100% disabled blind Korean War Veteran whose been a customer for 50 years. I am referring them and all eligible seniors to USAA, where I know they will be treated much better.

Multiple auto plus renter's insurance
Set up a policy with State Farm agent Ron Greene. Do not ever utilize him for your insurance needs. He quoted me $80 less than anyone else. Another State Farm agent ran my policy and saw a speeding ticket that would raise my rate to the amount he quoted me. I immediately called Mr. Greene’s office and spoke with his employee, informing them of the ticket and asking how this would affect my insurance. She assured me she would call the underwriters to assess this ticket, as it hadn’t shown up in my MVR”. Two days later I still had not heard back. I called back and was assured they would speak with the underwriters and resolve this issue. The next day, nothing. I called back again and spoke to Mr. Greeene. I was assured nothing was wrong and my worries were baseless. Then the friend who referred me called and said he was sorry Ron couldn’t get me insured.. By the time I heard this, the office was closed, so I called the 800 number for State Farm and confirmed I was in fact covered and insured. Now, I receive a cancellation notice in the mail from State Farm’s home office. I call Mr. Greene’s office to ask what was going on, he confirms my policy was cancelled. I ask why, after 4 separate phone calls, he missed this ticket, causing the cancellation of my policy, and why he didn’t think to inform me of the cancellation. He says he certainly thought he meant to, but it must have slipped through the cracks. I’m glad my address didn’t slip through the cracks, like my email and phone number did, otherwise I would have had absolutely no idea I was uninsured. My phone number and email had transcribed numbers, like 81 instead of 13. Mr. Greene only cared about getting my money, even if he was only making one month’s worth, knowing full well it would be cancelled. The lack of any sort of compassion, service or otherwise caring about a client’s situation was astounding and I will recommend people look ANYwhere but State Farm for insurance from now on.

Great Company!
I love State Farm’s customer service! The cost of the insurance kept going up after Hurricane IKE. It is almost twice as much as some other companies. Every January I go to their office to see what other benefits I need to take off, so I can afford them.

Terrible claim customer service, too $$$
The space here is not enough. I’ll just say that I only insured my car with State Farm because we had our homeowners policy with them and I needed the discount. I had them raise rates on my homeowner policy without notice 2 times and only noticed when my house payment went up because of the increase. I had to go by and get them to change it so I could afford it. They are handling a claim not that they didn’t call me even once to give me updates after the initial report. I called them after 2 weeks and they already had everything decided. They were rude and unconcerned with getting all info that was possible to help my case. I’m moving to Farmer’s Group. It’s over $1000 less for the same homeowner coverage. Less than very dissatisfied and feel like a non-person because of their non-efforts at service. I will speak highly for my agent. He is wonderful but I can’t stay just because of him.

Terrible customer service
I don’t understand how state Farm keeps policy holders. I haven’t even decided to insure with them and I’m already infuriated just trying to get a quote. The agent I spoke with is more interested about making a sale rather than listening to what I’ve said at least 5 times already. He talks down to me like I’m a two year old and speaks to me like I’m stupid, even though I work insurance myself. I would have been fired by now if this is how I treated customers. But after all of this I was still willing to give them a chance. I went to apply the quote and now it can’t be found. Last straw. I’m ready to stay with my current insurance company. Saving $50 a month means nothing if I have to deal with this crappy customer service.

Deceptive selling practices
I’ve been a a State Farm customer for over 36 years and have never been treated as disrespectfully as I was in Ryan Tyler agency. Office manager Carly, lied to me over the phone to keep my car policy. I’m currently getting a divorce and she told me my soon to be ex husband threatened to drop my car policy. This was a complete a lie which has now escalated the divorce proceedings and has cost me a ton more money.
I called Ryan Tyler personally and he covered for Carly saying he heard the conversation but I have a witness also who heard the conversation. Ryan wasn’t apologetic nor sympathetic. He didn’t care at all. He was very condescending. I will be transferring all my policies from that agency.

22 Year Customer - No Agent Support
After 22 years I am canceling. We misplaced a bill before vacation and our auto insurance lapsed. Once before a bill was late because the auto-pay credit card expired and we were called 3 times by our agent. Our agent retired and we were reassigned to an agent 15 miles from our home (there are 4 within 3 miles) and the agent NEVER ONCE contacted us to see why we hadn’t paid. The agent is useless in back effective dating my policy (again never an issue in 22 years) and establishes a new policy with 35 days lapse. Now I owe DMV $310.
So, yes we missed a payment and we still had another car and homeowners policy. Drove out to talk to the agent and all he does is review my policies and tries to sell me Life Insurance.
Called around and now I’m getting more coverage from an A+ rated carrier, plus an Umbrella, for $500 less annually. WOW

Very lousy customer care...
I recently moved to new apartment so I requested to state farm to transfer my existing rental insurance to the new apartment and when I requested that time the state farm employee told she will do it and later came to know that she actually cancelled the account and made new account and put an extra charge and when I asked the question then she is telling for transferring the insurance they need to cancel and make a new one which they did not inform me earlier and they did without my knowledge and I need to pay extra amount….SO THERE IS NO TRANSPARENCY IN WHAT THEY DO….don’t Trust these people….make 200% of your query and then proceed….

2 months, no payment
They deemed my car totaled and have not provided payment. Title was sent early June. Feels like they just stole my car and could give a flying hoot to work with me. They have a callback line that consistently has a 20-30+ minute wait. Each time you call you must repeat everything and a manager is never available. Will call back and leave general line to do it all over again….

Forever Thankful
Statefarm is the best insurance agency ever. I have insurance through Al Schelling office and i must say myself i couldn’t have picked a better office..Everyone there is very nice, professional, and trustworthy. The agent i recently worked with was Lisa and she was AMAZING.. I am the type of person that have a hard time making decisions when there is a large amount of money considered because i always want to make the right choice and Lisa made me feel comfortable and she educated me every step of the way on how a person know if they are doing the right thing.. Lisa made herself available for me a number of times and reassured me that if i needed her for any assistance or support that she would be there for me and she was… I persoanlly have not ever had a experience like this before from any insurance ageny that i have insured with prior to state farm and for that reason i will rate them a 5 star and continue to do all of my business through them particularly at Al Schellings office.. I must say Lisa is definitely a strong asset to state farm and i am forever thankful.

Bad when it comes to returning money back
I call to made a payment and they overcharge me they put an extra 0. Then i call so they can give me my money back and it has pass 20 days and i have not seen my money back i dont understand now they say that i have to wait 5 more days its kind off crazy any place if they make a mistake they give you your money back fast but this company no. When they charge you it takes 5 to 10 minutes or even less and for them to give you a payment it takes almost a month and they dont even give you your bank fees or nothing. Please make sure they take the right amount if you dont want to wait a month for your money back. Also an fyi be careful with who ever is incharge of your policy there are some people that are just a name like who.ever is incharge of my policy i dont even know hom or heard from him even do i requested for him to call me and left messages

Worst customer service
I have been with State Farm since 1975. The one time I needed to use them was to help me deal with an accident that was not my fault. I was hit from behind. I got conflicting directions of what I should do. They did not do one thing to help me with the other insurance company. What have I been paying them for? My agent and his help are totally useless

Awful Claim Service
I was hit by a driver that ran a red light and her insurance was through State Farm. I filed my claim as soon as I had a copy of the police report and was told someone would call me back within 24 hours. Over a month later, I had to call them back and basically start the process all over. After being transferred and disconnected multiple times I was told again that someone would get back to me within 24 hours. Two days later I had to call them back again and had to go through the process of being transferred multiple times to finally get someone in my area that could help. I WOULD never do business with this company. It is absolutely ridiculous. A claim I had to make with Geico was taken care of within a week and my insurance company, Kentucky Farm Bureau, has never taken more than a week to get things resolved. State Farm is horrible!!!!

Do Not Trust State Farm!!
Was with State Farm for 18 years (policies included home, and 4-5 vehicles at various times), no claims ever filed on any policy. Roof was damaged in a large hail storm, and over the course of 4 years was verified by 3 roofers, one brought in by State Farm to insure no bias. Photos were taken showing all the damage, and the claim was denied. Shame on you State Farm!! You take peoples hard earned money, do nothing for it, and find any reason you can possibly pull out of the thin air to deny their claim. Do not trust them like I did!! I am now with Farmers’s, using the same coverage only better than I had with State Farm and they saved me enough money to cover my Home Owner’s Policy each year compared to what I was paying with State Farm!! Run from this company as fast as you can. Just Google State Farm Sucks and see how many people have been taken advantage of by this company. Even the industry ranks them as the top company to refuse to pay out claims.

20 plus years and dropped
Paid premiums faithfully for all this time, only had 4 claims. One for ice damage for about $600, one for wind damage for about, $400, one for my truck being broke into for $1200 and one for all my of lawn equipment beibeing stole out of my shed for $500. Today we were told we would be dropped by State Farm for too many claims. State Farm has made way more money off me than they have paid out on claims and dropped me. This had to be the most disreputable thing I have ever seen. Basically they say, we will insure you as long as you don’t make claims. Good bye state farm and I hope you go out of business!!!!

State Farm is not loyal to their customers
I have been with state farm for over 20 years and now they have cancelled my daughters insurance. State Farm does not appreciate loyalty, I used to think it was a great company but now I will do everything I can to spread they word about how loyal they are to their customers. I am highly upset and can’t believe this is happening to my family after being a loyal customer for over 20 years.

HORRIBLE CLAIMS SERVICE
State Farm was ranked as one of the WORST insurance companies in the nation by Consumer Reports recently. Now we know why. We filed a claim for hail damage to our home. 3 contractors all came up with similar estimates. But State Farm refused to pay for several items needed to restore our roof. Adjuster was disrespectful and straight up lied to us. We will be taking our business elsewhere after this nightmare is over. State Farm is there alright…to rip you off and take your premiums. But when you need them to cover damages, they are no where to be found!

Never Again
I got homeowners insurance and less than 2 months they cut it off saying there not covering my home because I have a spare tire and bicycles in front of my house.. umm how about I have 4 children and where they place their bikes is our choice not yours.. Searching for reasons to deny coverage
As an industry insider, I have seen numerous occasions in which State Farm repeatedly denies claims that should be covered, rips off homeowners by using substandard contractors, or offers settlements considerably LOWER than full indemnification.
And don’t get me started on the 1% deductible, this means if your house’s structure policy is $200,000, then your deductible is $2000… Really? $2000!!!!! That’s ridiculous! There are many other companies that provide mold coverage, use excellent contractors, calculate reasonable settlements, and that don’t find ways to deny coverage.
There IS a difference when an adjuster has the mindset of trying to ‘find coverage’ vs trying to ‘find reasons to deny coverage’…
And don’t fall for the State Farm agents baloney saying’ I will be able to get your coverage, don’t worry,” it is a flat out lie! Agents for State Farm can not determine coverage AND the adjusters repeatedly ignore them.
And if your adjuster says, “I only agree to pay my contractors bill and not your contractors,” then threaten to contact the department of insurance immediately… This adjuster is getting a kick back from this contractor… There is a ‘fee schedule’ that most insurance carriers utilize called xactimate, (think of it like the fee schedule for Medicare, the doctor can not decide willy-nilly what to charge for X or y procedure, it is determined by a third party)… So again, if your adjuster says I won’t pay your contractors bill even though your contractor utilizes xactimate, then your adjuster is committing a version of insurance fraud or bad faith in regards to your claim… The result will be substandard work, poor materials, incomplete scope, lack of full indemnification, etc…

Worst Service & Shady Practices
This has been the absolute worst insurance experience I have ever had!! I have life insurance with Allstate and should have never switched companies. It has taken multiple calls to customer service as well as the agent to get my life policy canceled. However they still have not canceled my policy and I am now receiving past due notices for payments I should have never been required to make. If you want less than lackluster customer service, by all means, be my guest! They will keep your policies open as long as possible to rack up charges and steal your money. These shady, unethical practices and agencies should be shut down immediately and reported by anyone and everyone experiencing the same! I can only imagine how many unsatisfied customers are having the same experience. For this insurance company to be one of the largest in the nation is an absolute joke an frankly I do not know how a company like this stays in business, besides for the fact that who knows how many millions of dollars they are stealing from customers each day! I would never recommend this business nor will I ever do business with them again! No wonder insurance companies get the bad wrap that they do! Avoid using them at all costs!!

Do not buy Statefarm
Do not buy insurance from State farm! I was hit by someone with State Farm insurance, and they refuse to fix parts of my truck that was damaged and stopped working. Tasha (Team 16) even said that it was possible that the item in question could have been damaged by the incident, and then when i called her on it, she retracted and said that the inspector said it was not their fault and they would not fix it… there are many options for insurance, pick someone else. #statefarm #statefarmripoff

Terrible System
So, I got married recently and am on a search for an auto insurance company for my husband and I as we were both on our parents policies and will now be needing to get one together. I had Liberty Mutual and he had State Farm. I got a quote from mine and deemed it too expensive, then I got a quote from Geico (super cheap! Woot!), but he wanted me to check with State Farm as well given that that’s what he’s a part of already. So, I called the Customer Service line and went through the long process of sharing all of his/my information and yadda yadda, then she tells me that since he already has a policy, that she can’t give me a quote and I’ll have to call his agent personally. I inform her that that agent is in Dallas, TX, but we now live in Tulsa, OK. So she says that that’s a different situation entirely, and instead I need to call the local agent to my area to get a quote… annoying that she can’t even give me a quote given that she has all of his information, but okay. So I waited until my location was open, and I called in to chat with that person. His assistant answered, so we started the whole process all over again. Then she says she can’t give me a quote (are you serious??) because I have to call HIS agent so he’ll release my husbands information to her. THEN I’ll have to call MY agent back and do everything all over again! What the heck is wrong with this company??! I just wanted a simple quote to even establish if State Farm is the direction we want to go. They make the process so much of a pain that I’m done with my curiosity. If it’s this difficult to get a basic quote, I can’t imagine how difficult it’d be if I were to get in an accident or something and need their assistance. Their system needs some adjustments, because this is just ridiculous. I do not recommend this insurance company at all.

After 30 years, they won't renew
I am so angry. I’ve lived in this house since 1987 and used State Farm the entire time. I have had 2 roofs and 2 minor water damages in that time. But now they tell me my fireplace isn’t good enough, and they don’t like my landscaping. Go to Hell, State Farm!

Will NEVER do business with them again
I had an auto policy with State Farm for more than 7 years, then a few years ago, I bought a new car, and got insurance for it, and cancelled the policy on my existing car after selling it later. Unknown to me, they canceled the new, not old car. One day my car was hit in a parking lot. When I made the claim, I discovered the error. They wouldn’t pay out the claim without fully paying the back amount. It seems crummy but I was okay with that, and decided to pay for the damages out of pocket and just get the insurance switched to the new car; except they refused to apply the insurance without a full back payment of the “uncovered” period even without the claim. This was several years ago.
I also had a homeowner’s policy with State Farm. Recently my home was vandalized and burglarized. They split the claim into two separate ones and charged me the deductible on both. Yesterday, I got a notice from State Farm that they would be dropping the policy on July 1 due to claim activity. The policy was 11 years old, in good standing, and the claims far less than what had been paid into it.
I called the agent, who talked to corporate, but they had made up their mind. Because they dropped me, my home is now considered high risk, which is driving my rates up. Not only did my home get vandalized and items stolen, but I also got screwed by State Farm.
This deplorable treatment of a long standing customer is reprehensible. I am not speaking from just one incident but multiple over a number of years, across different services and between multiple agents. The problems I have had weren’t from an agent, but from State Farm as a corporation. To me, non-isolated incidents over a range of time are indicative of bad business practices, not unusual circumstances. I urge anyone who is looking for insurance or for any of the other services State Farm offers, to steer clear of them!

Loyalty means nothing
After over 20 years with Satan Farm and a clean record, I had three unavoidable accidents” over the past three years of which the most expensive claim was $850. Corporate decided to drop me unless I’m willing to pay twice as much as I ever have. My agent understands that these were minor and really fluke situations that will never happen again (unless I’m like one of those people to be struck by lightening multiple times). He tried to appeal, but the answer given is that the computer recognized a “pattern” and they are not able to do anything about it. I am going to start shopping around today to be released from the clenches of Satan Farm.

Mike Rygiel State Farm STAY AWAY!
Worst. Ever.
It took almost a month for me to get my car back after my accident. The claim team changed 3 times and no one ever notified me. It took almost a week to get an adjuster out to even view the damage. I couldn’t get any answers from anyone as to why it was taking so long or even directed to the proper person for updates. It was the worst experience. I was out $600 for a rental car, none of which they even offered to help out with given that their lack of organization and communication led to me being without my car for a month. Then, their off TRIPLE charged my credit card for my premiums, promised me a refund in 3 days which actually took 8 days, and again I got zero updates for the refund timeline and then when I finally did receive my refund, they shorted me $50, with no reason behind that. I guess they feel its acceptable to keep money after over charging someone without authorization to do so. Mike himself said he wanted to send me a gift card for the inconveniences and miscommunications with his staff so thanks for the $10. That totally makes up for the last 5 months of absolutely horrible service. This whole office has zero compassion and a complete lack of concern when dealing with customers. Avoid them!

CLAIMS DEPARTMENT IS NOT HELPFUL

HA! That was definitely not the case for me. They are useless, shady and greedy. Everything is fine until you get in an accident (first accident I’ve ever had). Then you will be hit with a hail storm of BULLSHIT! From not only State Farm but the Body shop I choose as well. 1 month after I get my car back and it STILL HAS ISSUES that state farm is telling me is “normal”. My car never made noise while steering before and now it does. I had $10,713.50 worth of damage (should have been totaled in the first place, but of course wansn’t so bodyshop could make profit).. I am FED UP and am now being forced to take legal action because I feel as if State Farm is lying and cheating me out of repairs that I KNOW ARE BASED OF ACCIDENT! THIS IS A BRAND NEW CAR IT IS NOT NORMAL TO MAKE NOISE WHILE STEERING. I’ve even told them they are more than welcome to come to the VW store I work at and drive a car identical to mine to compare. Do you think anyone has or will come to do that? Nope. Because they don’t care.

Very bad Customer Service at State Farm
I was hit by a State Farm- insured driver. While my vehicle is being assessed Sate Farm sets me up with a rental for a period of 20 days. Then all of a sudden after only 11 days they call the rental company, not me, to say the rental period is over and all charges from that point are my responsibility. I call them to ask about it and they come up a flimsy explanation based on the timing and result of the assessment, which of course was NEVER communicated to me previously, only after the fact and the charges were on me.
I have a Rental Agreement assigned to me by Sate Farm for 20 days, but it did not matter, they just canceled it halfway and charges from that point.
The most untrustworthy and shady insurance company!

Went to their body shop so I wouldn’t have to travel all over. Rapid Collision was who they sent me to. Then I land up traveling all over anyway. My truck is still not fixed and so I paid all this time for comprehensive and can not use it because of their trickery

Police were called on customer!
Ken Mazzola’s employee, Monica, called the police on me after 35 years of paying State Farm on time with currently paying for 8 vehicles and 3 houses insured through them. The only reason that I went to the office was because she hung up on me when I called. She promptly called the police when I tried to finish a sentence without her interrupting me, claiming that I wouldn’t leave the office when she asked and she felt threatened. The police came and thought that the claim was so ridiculous that they did not file a police report. The police advised me to find another agent or insurance company. Ken said they have called the police on other customers, too.

30 year customer given $2k for roof replacement
I’ve been paying State Farm home owners insurance for 30 years. Not to mention auto. I had one claim for my home in the last 30 years my roof 13 years ago at $3600. My recent claim for hail damage came to a whopping $2k payout because I was informed that $3600 went against the roof cost. Wow… Paid $50k+ to State Farm and I’m stuck with fronting the money for my roof and being reimbursed $2k upon completion. I understand why they are a $98 Billion dollar company!

Massive increases
I have been with SF for over 16 years. This past year my homeowners insurance has gone us 60%. I have had not claims and it has gone around 2% every year previous. The have done the same with there car insurance. State farm is nothing more than greedy thieving bastards

I’ve been a State Farm customer for over 30 years. BE CAREFUL!!! Your rates increase DRAMATICALLY as you reach certain milestones – 65, 70, etc. regardless of never filing a claim. Mine increased 42%. Definitely going to change companies.

Received email from agent (Martin-Garrard Insurance Agency – State Farm), using verbally abusive words. Not only was the email unprofessional, but the customer service was horrible. No matter how cheap the rates I will not be renewing.

Awful
One of their customers fell asleep at the wheel and totaled my vehicle. I gave them a fair chance to settle my claim at fair market value for my vehicle and they are trying to give me $1,000 less for my car then nada says it’s worth. I spoke with a lawyer but did not hire a lawyer and he told me that all government in court agencies use Nada. And that they were trying to screw me. I then called back with a fair value of my car and his response was to tell me to hire a lawyer they don’t care.

Reginald Green - Raytown, MO State Farm
As a recently new policyholder, I had one of the worst experiences with this State Farm agent (Reginald Green) than I have had at any business. The staff tried their hardest, but the agent didn’t take any time with clientele (based on my experience.) I was incorrectly billed in November and although I was told the issue was resolved, I was still billed for the prior policy. After having to deal with numerous calls to the staff and to the afterhours I let them know I wouldn’t be paying the bill until it was corrected because I was tired of wasting my time calling them each month (multiple times.) Reginald Green’s staff informed me my policy would be cancelled if it wasn’t paid right away and would not give me a bill for the services I was to be receiving. I left voicemails for the agent himself multiple times as the staff was unable to resolve the issues, but never heard back. Therefore, decided to switch agent.
Finally months later, I get an email from the agent asking what the issue was and then after explaining it he replied there’s not a whole lot to discuss now. Wouldn’t reccommend to anyone. Only gave 1 star because you have to click one to post.

Absolute trash with claim speed.
Disgusted with these idiots. If you’re expertise is to provide quality care to your customers you should be just that, experts at providing this service. Two times State Farm has failed to make a timely tow service claim an easy process. Should have learned the first time. Had to wait 6 hours the first time around and ended up cancelling the claim due to time and cost. It was cheaper to go with a 3rd party tow company and deal with the slight reimbursement from State Farm.
Now the second issue, simple 9.5 mile tow and these idiots can’t even get that right. IT SHOULD NOT TAKE TWO HOURS TO DISPATCH A TOW TRUCK IN A MAJOR CITY. Absolutely awful customer service definitely cancelling the policy with these idiots. Go elsewhere.

Rude/Bad Customer Service
I called the office of Jeff Briggs, a State Farm Insurance Agent, I work for a dealership in Ohio, while trying to help a customer coverage for a new vehicle from us, I was hung up on while after a very brief introduction. I was left baffled, at shock, and disbelief. It is beyond me how rude and ignorant can a person be. May be the lady at the other side of line didn’t like the fact that I spoke with a northern accent.

Had a great SF Agent in VA, new agent office in FL
Moved from Virginia to Florida. Contacted a SF agent near new home. Was told that they would get back with me quickly to transfer policy. They failed to contact me within the week. Agent finally gave me new quotes for cars, but still needed to get final quote for RV policy. Promised to call later. By 5:00 PM the office closes without providing the information on RV policy. This is poor service. They obviously don’t want or need my business.

They do not complete repairs
My car was in a front end crash. The primary body work was done well. There were remaining items such as 1 of the daytime running lights not working. The sunroof vanity panel spring holder broke and springe rolled around the headliner. The drivers door cracked in the wreck. They refused to repair these others items including the safety risk of the daytime running lights. If you want complete coverage that is real I do not recommend State Farm. You will be disappointed.

I had auto insurance coverage from age sixteen to early forties. This company stopped offering auto coverage, so I had to shop around for new coverage. I tried multiple other companies and was unsatisfied with the high cost because I was not an established policy holder. My nephew was also shopping around for auto insurance and he suggested I speak with the State Farm representative he spoke with and purchased a policy. Working with State Farm has been excellent and I did not have to pay a high premium until I was an established policy holder. Just like the company I spent most of my life being insured through. I ultimately have life insurance and renters insurance through State Farm and recommend this company to everyone. My agent is great and I get the customer service I expect.

terrible insurance company
Picked up coverage for my car to keep it on the road while I left the country. 2 months into my policy they cancel stating I am liable because my brother lives in the same household. They take my coverage and never send so much as an email to let me know. As a result I am left with a tarnished record or insurance lapse. When I returned to the country I repeatedly called customer service to try to get the lapse removed. Theyre response is there is nothing they can do and good luch fighting the biggest law firm in the country. This company is unreliable and should not be trusted.

I FEEL INTIMIDATED!
Last week, there was a bad windstorm and a tree fell onto my vinyl-covered chain-link fence and crushed over 25 feet of it. I live in the middle of nowhere, so that fence not only keeps the coyotes out of my yard, it also keeps my two dogs in it. I have had State Farm for over 6 years, and never filed a claim before, so I called my agent and said I wanted to file a claim for the cost of the tree removal and new fencing. He told me if he were me, he wouldn’t bother filing such a “minor” claim because I would lose my $189 discount for never having filed a claim, and from now on, that amount would be added to my premium. Then he said, “And in the future, if you have a big claim, like for a fire, they’ll look at your file, see you’ve already filed a previous claim, and probably will cancel your policy.”
I said, “You mean, I could make payments for the next 20 years, but they won’t cancel my policy until I actually try to file another claim?”
He said, “Basically, yes. So that’s why I suggest you save your claim for a more substantial one.”
Save my claim? That pretty much told me I’m allowed to file only one! So that means from now on if something happens, I’ll have to decide, “Is this the big one? Or should I hold out for something bigger?” I mean, if my basement floods, should I claim that, or save it in case there’s a fire or an explosion in the future? What do they think I am, a fortuneteller? It’s ridiculous! And my other problem is it took me ages to get an insurance company willing to insure me because they all have a list of “the 10 most vicious dogs,” and they will not insure people who own any of the breeds on the list ““ and my 2 dogs are on that list! State Farm is the only company that said it didn’t matter to them what breeds my dogs are. But what good are they if I can file only ONE claim during my lifetime? That’s absurd!

40 years with State Farm and not renewed
I have been with State Farm for over 40 years. Filed three claims on one of my car policies. They are not renewing one car now. I have three other cars and my homeowners with them. They suck!

Rip Off
I was not at fault in a collision. I was rear-ended and fully insured. I thought I had rental car coverage and my rep agreed. I paid my $500 deductible after being told I’d get reimbursed. Later I was told a check was in the mail from the at-fault drivers insurance company. A month later I was told the at fault party didn’t have mini-tort coverage so my deductible would not get reimbursed and then I was told they wouldn’t reimburse my rental car either. I lost out on $1200 for being a State Farm client. I called the office repeatedly, tried emailing and was hung up on after finally speaking to Tom Mozzola (head of office). His staff is all females named Maria… so none of my notes from conversations mattered because they can’t determine what Maria I talked to or who told me wrong info. -_-

Unorthodox Business Practices
Although I have always had a perfect driving record ( NO VIOLATIONS), State Farm chose to send me a letter of coverage termination, just because I was having constant issues with my vehicle.
I have a 1995 Jeep that was not starting due to a parasitic power drain that I was unaware of at that time, and could not afford to have repaired.
I contacted them on 4 different occasions for a jump start . (They refer to it as, towing service.)
When I asked the State Farm representative if I would be penalized for the number of times I requested service, I was told no, and reassured several times that I was well within their guidelines. This proved to be a blatant LIE!
Months later, they terminated my coverage for exceeding the amount of times I could request tow/jump start service.
They counted these service requests as claims, and now, I have to pay a higher insurance premium with my new insurer because of State Farm’s unfair business practices.
State Farm has ruined my perfect driving record as well as, my privilege to pay a lower premium.
STATE FARM SUCKS! CONSUMERS BEWARE!

Sorry customer service
I have had my auto and homeowners insurance with State Farm for 8 years. Two years ago I had a personal dispute with my agent. I sought another State Farm agent who agreed to take my business until he talked to my old agent. My complaints to the corporate office were all but ignored. I was assigned the Regional Office here in Murfreesboro as my agent. Yesterday when I called that office, the employee hung up on me. I called the corporate office, as well as someone in Texas. Each employee had a different answer to my problems but all refused to assign me another agent. I am in the process of going to another company. I would not recommend State Farm to anyone, especially if they live in Murfreesboro, TN. A SORRRY, SORRY company!!

denying a claims worth and not paying all medical
As a current customer of state farm, I was hit by another insured by state farm approx 1 1/2 year ago sustaining chronic back injuries, as proven by MRI and cat scan. My quality of life has declined due to on going pain that will not heal and is not surgery optional. State farm did pay pip but after that, to the tune of over $8,000, they said they would only pay $7,500 to cover pain and suffering and remaining medical bills NOT CLOSE. Filing suit against them and I am looking for different insurance, would NOT recommend this insurance to anyone

Like a good neighbor state farm is NOT there!!
So I have been a customer with state farm for 40+ years. I have homeowners insurance and car insurance through them. My son and daughter live with me and also have had state farm for over 15+ years. My son went to pay his surcharge for a ticket he got and motor vehicle put the payment towards his registration which put his license as suspended. He wasn’t aware it was suspended until pulled over from a officer. The officer notified him and my son showed him the receipt from motor vehicle that he paid. The officer gave him no ticket and he contacted motor vehicle. He was supposed to be suspended for 6 months but due to mishaps they restored his license a week later. State farm saw he was diving on a suspended license and canceled him. Now they are trying to cancel EVERYONES POLICY that lives in my house including my homeowners insurance and car! After being with them 40+ years and paying my bill on time for the past 40 years and being a loyal company they fuck you!! BEWARE!!!!!

My Dad was a State Farm agent for 30 plus years and is ashamed of this company.
Here is my story: Our neighbors house caught fire and and damaged our house next door and the neighbor on the other side. The fire started in their yard by their deck. Even though they both smoke and store their lawnmower and gas can in the yard the fire was deemed undetermined. State farm states that since the fire was deemed undetermined, that they are not responisble for the $17000 damages to our property or to the other neighbors house. We are both out our $1000 deductables to our insurance companys and have a claim on our record that wasnt from our fire! I would highly recommend any other insurance agency. Dont do business with State Farm, in my opinion they are NOT A GOOD NEIGHBOR and WONT BE THERE FOR YOU.

Change my premium before I started!
I decided to change my condo insurance after my premiums went up over the years. State farm had the best price for what I needed. I agreed to the quote and plan and paid the bill in full. Then a week later I got a bill saying my premium is actually higher than the quote. Who raises the rate before I have even started! No one has called or contacted me to discuss this and every time I call, they are closed or I get the automatic system. Already disappointed.

I got rear ended by an American Access insured driver. All you have to do is read their BBB reviews and you will see that American Access Insurance is rated an F. Thank God my State Farm rep encouraged me early on to go with all the bells and whistles to protect myself from the low rate insurance companies, like American Access. State Farm fought my battles all the way through the process. No stress….No mess! I guess a little higher premium paid for itself. I sleep good at night knowing I will never have to step in the ring and get dirty. Truth be told, my Lexus was getting repaired, had a rental car and smoking a cigar before American Acess” even bothered to send me a letter. (Their form of contact). Stay away
Had someone back into my car so bad that both doors had to be replaced. Took over a month to get it fixed. Got my car back and the airbag light was on. State Farm claims that it wasn’t on due to the accident and they are not paying to fix it. They said it needed $1500.00 of repairs and they already paid the dealership $680 to diagnose it. I had my car checked out by a reputable repair shop and after only 10 min they had my car fixed. It turns out the body shop didn’t plug in the new airbag sensor in the new door they installed. So the body shop messed up, the dealership tried to scam the insurance company and State Farm just doesn’t care about there customers.

15+ years and I'm leaving them
State Farm was really good as long as I was paying them money and asking for nothing in return. Once I had to file a claim they became horrible. As soon as my current claim (it’s take over 2 months to settle) is over I’m finding another insurance company.

Minor car accident on 11/22. Today is,12/21 and claim not settled. When I call claim number I’m put on permanent hold. Online access still shows no fault or final decision.

reprehensible treatment
After spending $6000 a year in property and vehicle insurance for over 10 years a small not at fault claim was horrible. I was told we were partially at fault when backed into, so when I tried to call back to get a supervisor to order a on site investigation because the damage would prove no fault. I was given the run around and hung up on multiple times being transferred to go back on hold until office closed
As a business owner,I will be pulling our business and praying to never have to be talked down to by people like that at state farm

Paid my insurance before the due date online and my insurance still cancelled because their systems don’t “talk” to each other. I’ve also tried to pay more than one month at a time, and they can’t do that. Was told I had to wait for the new bill to generate. Seriously, I’m trying to give you money, and you can’t take it? What is wrong with you? I just renewed last month, but I’m in the process of looking for a company that spends money on their technological infrastructure, and not celebrity endorsements.

State Farm is awful
I changed to state farm, b/c their rates were much better. A year after I changed, a herd of deer, about 10, ran out on the road, and I had stopped but, one hit my car and fell…since then, my auto insurance rates keep going up….last year I phoned and they said, it’s b/c the accident rate in my rural area is going up. Well, when someone has an accident, their rates go up, why should I be penelizeed for their mistakes….and by the way, if an accident occurs and it is proven b/c someone was texting or talking on the phone, they should have to pay a huge fine. My auto insurance went up 120.00 this year. I drive 11 miles to work…this is highway robbery….I bet their CEO makes a huge bonus! it is time to look for another insurance company….I have no tickets or other accidents, and I’ve been driving the same way to work for over 20 years….? I am very angry with this insurance company.

Sir, It is with bitterness enormously that I see in the obligation to post you this letter of protest to the quality of service I have known since my accident of October 10, 2015, therefore the number of the claim is 205 H 50751 my car was declared a total loss. Mr. I think it is unacceptable to treat a customer as I have been treated and has continued to be since the accident. Imagine that for two weeks I do all that is in my best and try to do everything your company asks me to do for end happily without following example last night around 14 pm me your agent received on the phone agreed with me that this morning I had to call before 9:00 of way has to be among the first called my bank for a conference call I do not understand that one is a hang up my phone to nose three straight since this morning. What is of extreme discourtesy MOREOVER commercially. I am extremely and highly addition, depite has depressed the limit by this attitude that has lead me wonder about the commercial value that I represented for your company. Sir, by sounds such behavior I shall give me your utmost attention hoping for it to return to my rights if this is possible and if it was not to be the case I will have to defer has a the divine will.

Since when did I start working for State Farm?
I had switched to State Farm from Mercury because I was looking for a lower rate on car insurance with the same coverage, and a family member referred me to them.. I’ve been with them for a little over a year now. Prior to switching, I hadn’t been in an accident in over 6 years. I was involved in an accident that wasn’t my fault a month ago.. the customer service of the claims department seemed alright, although, I needed to call them to get any information about where my claim stood. Which is understandable. When the appraiser went out to look at my vehicle at the shop, they determined there had been prior damage to the front, which I knew there hadn’t been because I care for my vehicle and my boyfriend and I get underneath it every other weekend to make sure everything is up to par. So thankfully my agent was awesome and she got involved and told the higher up people, that’s not right.. the same day she called, I also called, maybe a little after her, and spoke to someone who looked at the pictures the appraiser took and determined, there wasn’t any prior damage! He then apologized the process went on for as long as it did and that it shouldn’t have.. I was NOT happy, it took 1.5 weeks to just get the money I needed to get my vehicle fixed!! They need better appraisers.. ones that know what is going on under 4×4 vehicles…. I also am going through another issue currently with State Farm regarding my vehicle.. so this review will have a sequel.. once everything with this next claim is settled, I’m shopping around for better insurances.. I don’t care if I need to pay more, I shouldn’t have to have added stress on top of the accident and take time off of work to make sure these appraisers do their job correctly, or know what’s going on underneath a vehicle. I am definitely going to look into AAA or Mercury. I know plenty of people who are insured by them and they get stuff done..It’s not left up to yourself to tell them to do their jobs.

State Farm needed up everything on my policy and charged me more and more each month and when I called them to resolve the issue they said they will look into it an call me back. They never called back and I called numerous times to get the problem fixed I told them I would not pay until they fixed it and it took them almost 2 months to finally get everything straightened out but by the time they got it done the day I called to make a payment they said they canceled it that morning! Hello no of this was my fault! Why do I have to suffer with you overcharging me and then taking soo long to fix it?!?!?!!! Don’t waste your time on them!

Car Wreck
On 09/17/2015 around the noon o’clock hour my 3 year old daughter and I were in a car wreck. We were at a complete stop when a large van slammed into the back of my car and slammed us into the car in front of us. The driver of the van was found at fault for the entire accident and his insurance, Progressive, was supposed to take care of it from there. Progressive never called to ask how my daughter or I was. It was days of me calling multiple numbers before I could even get in contact with someone on my case. From there I was basically told they could not get me a rental car and the guy who had caused the wreck did not have adequate insurance to fix the damages yet alone replace my car if it turned out to be totaled, which it had. I have full coverage through State Farm so I called them asking what to do. They also would not get me a rental car and came down on me for not having gap insurance”. I have been driving since 2005 and I have never had an accident or heard of things like gap insurance. I have never even had more than 3 tickets in all of those years driving. We eventually got a quote of what they would pay us out and it was almost $4,000.00 under what we need to break even, not including lost wages, doctor bills and everything else. State Farm wants us to pay $500.00 just for this claim on the accident and since we had multiple items in my car from moving that were broken they want us to pay at least another $500.00 to start a claim just for the things inside my car. We had mentioned that we were going to look into a lawyer and since then the State Farm agent, Ashley Harper, will not return our calls or voice mails. Today we called her supervisor and again we have had no additional contact from State Farm. At this point this whole ordeal is becoming so stressful and discouraging for my family, my marriage and myself.

Auto Claim Settlement - Horrible
I was hit by uninsured driver and when SF got ready to settle they would even consider paying bills that MPC chose not to pay, even after the IME exam I had done per their request. Next time in accident I recommend you get an ATTORNEY to settle for you! I got paid more on another claim that I was not at fault in with AmFam – will change to them!

My experience with State Farm
State Farm is the worst insurance company I have done business with in my life. They do not invested their claims. They do not document your account properly. And, most of all they are not helpful.
I was involved in an automobile accident and Team 10 was supposed to be reviewing my claim. I had to force them to re open the claim because the first decision was only based off the other driver and her statment. They never took a statement from me, asked for photo’s, and I never even got the opportunity to meet with an adjuster. They took two weeks to finally make a final decision on my claim. Every time I called in I had to repeat what happened in the previous call. The claim specialist were not nice or understanding. Instead I experience women who choose to be short on the phone with me. I WOULD NEVER REFER this insurance company to anyone.
Geico is really the way to go if you are in need of insurance within Maryland.

25% increase in homeowner premiums
Went up on homeowners ins premiums by 25%. A $200 increase from last year. Auto ins is due in March. If it increases by 25% also, after being a loyal customer for over 20 years, we will probably be looking for another provider.

With State Farm since 1980 for home and cars Have been very satisfied with their service I like my agent and its staff All are very nice, responsive people. 2 claims on the house (one large tree fell on it). A couple of minor car accidents over the years. No problem with the claims Recently I reviewed all my policies with my agent Before I met with him I made phone calls to get quotes from other companies I didn t feel I was getting a better deal Plus I go by what others tell me about their own companies I prefer to stay with SF

Don't Ever File a Claim
We have been with State Farm for about a year now for our auto insurance. We received notice that our policy was not going to renewed due to too many claims. We’ve had three claims in one year so let’s look at those. In October of 2014, while sitting at a red light, an individual turned into my car. He accepted full responsibility from the start. In April 2015, while stopped at a red light, a drunk driver barreled into the guy behind me going at least 45 mph. Sadly, he carried state minimum insurance at $10k. In August, my only at fault accident, was when my husband backed into a car in a parking lot. Minor damage. According to State Farm that is too many claims and they will cut you regardless of fault. I will make sure to never recommend State Farm to anyone and I will publicize their shady policies everywhere. Goodbye State Farm you suck!

too expensive to be competitive
I have a 2008 Toyota Prius, and since I am financing it, my premium is nearly $100 a month for full coverage. My husband has a 2008 GMC Silverado truck, and his insurance on it is the same as my Prius, though it cost 3 X as much. Looking around, can’t afford these high rates. WE feel as if we have been red-lined due to our zip code.

Dissppointed Customer
I have been a valued customer for over 10 years.
received a paper telling me how many accidents I have had when really some were just question that I called the claim department over the weekend to ask. Very disappointed with claims department customer service. This is entrapment keeping me as a customer because putting on a persons record the word accident” when there was NO accident is incorrect. This company is untrusted, unfair they need a new practice for reporting true “accidents” and question on my policy after hours! I will be looking around but of course with this as a record I will be paying MORE thanks for nothing State Farm…look somewhere else for better customer! June “

After 30+ years
After more than 30 years of being with State Farm I found out yesterday that I was being dropped. Two sons each had an accident within the last 5 years and I was told see you later. To state that I’m disappointed would be an understatement. For those thinking of State Farm for insurance I would only say STAY AWAY, STAY FAR AWAY. My agent claimed he knew this was coming and didn’t bother to even call me. Shameful is all I can say. Just unbelievable how a company treats loyal long standing customers. Too many claims? Wow, what are we coming to in this country? Hey, State Farm, how much money have you collected from me for the last 30+ years from Car Insurance, Home Insurance, Life Insurance? Well, no more, take your sorry commercials and your phony agents and stuff it. I will NEVER recommend you or your agents for anything – EVER.

Refused to Reimburse Me for a Covered Loss
I had my 1991 Ford Mustang manual transmission vehicle towed by MSV Towing in Pittsburgh, PA. After several miles of towing the tow truck driver observed white smoke coming from the rear of my vehicle. In addition, we could both hear a high-pitched squealing noise coming from the rear. The driver then pulled the truck to the side of the road.
When I exited the vehicle I was overwhelmed by a thick cloud of white smoke. In addition, there was a strong smell of burning fluids and overheated metal. I immediately noticed a puddle of fluid dripping from the back of my engine and white smoke billowing out of my tail pipe. I got into my car and the car was still in first gear and the key was in the run position. I believe that the tow truck operator started the car by pulling it in first gear with the key in the run position, causing catastrophic failure. And, I had an automotive expert tell me after inspecting the vehicle that, based on my observations and the condition of the motor, that it sounded as if that is what happened.
MSV Towing has admitted to me, State Farm and the BBB that his driver was negligent, but has refused to pay for the entire cost of repair. I then submitted a claim under the comprehensive coverage of my auto policy to get the car repaired, but State Farm has refused to compensate me for this covered loss.
I asked State Farm Mutual for a copy of the failure analysis, the adjuster’s report and any effort that they have made to properly evaluate this claim and I have received nothing. In fact, the denial letter is riddled with inaccuracies, including their claim that the damage was done to a 1999 Ford Mustang.
Lastly, this is the first claim that I have ever filed with State Farm for anything and I have had both auto and home coverage in excess of 15 years.

Worst insurance company ever
After waiting 30 days for state farm to contact their insurer for damages to my car, they had told me they would accept liability if they could not contact them within that time frame. 31 days later my insurance company calls state farm and they say to them that they were going to accept liability and would soon call me with the details that day. They did not call me, so I called my insurance company the next day and all of the sudden state farm says that they never accepted liability and that the accident was my fault. Wow this was ridiculous they said they did not have documentation of accepting liability, gee I wonder maybe they deleted it obvious?? What a horrible insurance company that one day they say something and all of the sudden they change their mind when is was clearly their drivers fault as said so by the police report that said the other driver was recklessly driving.

Not Honest
Will take your money but when you cancel don’t do it over the phone or even in person. Do it in writing via email. We cancelled over the phone and it was never processed. He acknowledged we spoke when I called to cancel my insurance, but, he said it was to advise him of a pending re-finance. We started a policy elsewhere at the same time as our refinance and he never processed our cancellation or refunded us for the unused portion. Great if you NEVER need them
I was insured for 15 years with NO accidents until my accident in May 2015. The claims experience with State Farm was a nightmare. Every aspect of the process was a nightmare. I mean, break down crying of frustration at work trying to deal with the claims group kind of nightmare, and I am a thick skinned person. It took 6 weeks to get my car back from the collision center because State Farm couldn’t decide if they wanted to total my car or fix it. THEN, they said they would fix it if the repair shop fixed the front frame rails by welding some used parts together. My mechanic was not comfortable doing this as he said for some cars it is probably ok, but on yours, it will likely ruin the integrity of the vehicle and I cannot in good faith repair the frame like that”. THEN my rental coverage expired and they didn’t tell the rental place until 8 days after it was up. THEN NO ONE CALLED ME and I ended up with a $700 Hertz bill that State Farm would not help me with even though it was their fault. THEN my car needed supplemental paperwork (since my mechanic wouldn’t jerry rig the frame rails) to cover the additional cost of new rails. After that stalled the process a full 7 days, I had to call the claims people and step by step walk him through getting approval for that supplement and sending it to my mechanic. I was furious and tired of hitching rides to and from work. I could go on, because believe me, there is more, but it is aggravating me to have to relive this again. I will NEVER work with them again. Never. You have been warned. If you decide to go with them, just hope you NEVER NEED THEM! Had I not called claims, my mechanic, hertz, and my agent 3 times a week EVERY week, I might still be without a car…no joke.
